• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

Star Wars DVD's will feature new alterations!

I heard this was added too.

After hans kills Greedo, he's confronted by a scimitar wheeling Jawa who's controlled by a character played by David Bowie in some Labyrinth. After he blasts the Jawa, he's chased by a talking duck/man who's pissed off because he hung his midget (PC: little people) friend in a Willow tree. But, it really gets crazy just after Hans escapes from "The Land before Time," he teams up with Captian E.O. and together they take on Young Indiana Jones and the Temple of Body Heat.

Well, I think it's all moot anyway. Lucas has said numerous times he will never release the originals again.

THe Spoecial editions of the trilogy were supposed to be thheater only. Even in the trade magazines he was quoted saying they were never coming on on VHS. Obviously, he changed his mind. So, just because he says it doesn't mean he's going to stick with it.

Besides, he does listen to public reaction. I've heard that the reaction to the Yoda/Dooku fight in Ep2 was such that something similar will be in Ep3, or so I heard on either TheForce.net or Ain't it Cool News.

So, maybe, just maybe, people'll see the originals on DVD one of these days.

Also evidenced by the NSYNC jedis :\

I wasn't too big on "Alert my Star Destroyer to prepare for my arrival" replacing "Bring my shuttle." Vader had just offered his son the chance to rule the galaxy, and he replied by jumping to his apparent death; he was quite ticked at that point in time, so a terse "Bring my shuttle" sounds more believable than the calm "Alert my Star Destroyer..."

As long as the changes are just to spruce up the effects that are showing their age, then I'm all for it.

While both of these are true, the one statement he has said time and time again with no lack of resolve is that the originals will not be released again. While it's certainly possible he'd release the originals, I don't think it's very probable at all. He's said it too many times for too many years now.

Eh, I'll likely outlive him. Once he's ceased to be an obstruction, I'm sure the originals will be released.

When George decided that he had the technology to make Star Wars the way he had envisioned, and return some scenes that were left on the cutting room floor, the prints LucasFilm had to work with were so deteriorated that if they hadn't started at that time, they wouldn't have had the chance to work with the prints. This is mentioned in the Special Edition commentary at the beginning of the SW:SE tape; they even show you how bad the original print looked before they got to work.

Another statement he made, time and again, with no lack of resolve, was that he wasn't going to make anything beyond the original trilogy.

When Lucas says, 'I will not do a thing", it really means, "I will not do it now, but I may change my mind."
