Star Wars for Fantasy

In a few recent discussions I've seen people mention using the Star Wars Force rules (with some modifications) as an alternative magic system. I've also heard people suggest the Noble class as a PC Aristocrat, or the Scout as a non-spellcasting Ranger. The Defense bonus sounds quite popular too.

Is anyone out there playing a fantasy game using the Star Wars rules? How is it working out for you?

severed hands go BUMP!

Well SW is fantasy so the real question is: Does any one use the SWRPG rules for a medieval setting?

On a related note has anyone been following the development of Knights of the Old Republic? If so does it sound to you like they're using the SWRPG rules, at least to some extent? Keep in mind it is being developed by Bioware.

I let one of my players make a new 9th level Force Adept as a one shot character in my campaign (his regular character was out of the country at the time). His Force Push and Heal Another (there are no Clerics nor any heal spells in the campaign) came in handy. Other than that, I'd say he was a less effective character than the standard D&D ones (which may have been from the VP used for fueling his 'spells'). But he had some nice flavour.
