Star Wars:KOTOR ad!

Valanthe = wife?
Scorch = ?

Both of them members I just haven't noticed yet?

Scorch would be me. I am sort of an enabler when it comes to WizarDru and Valanthe's family. I introduced their daughter to Pikachu when she was 3 and showed her how to operate the DVD Player remote when she was 5. I have a whole agenda planned out for their son... ha... mu ha.... MU HA HA HA!

I do the same for WizarDru and Valanthe when it comes to A/V technology such as DVD players, Tivo, and video games.

Too true. I would take a 144 page sourcebook with an overview of some key plantetary systems, a few new classes like Jedi Sentinel (!!), the basic timeline and major NPC's, vehicles and the like statted out. Throw in some more about the Mandelorians, Jedi, Sith and Republic along with the major players of that period and I think we are all set. :)
If I wasn't such a stickler for canon I would feel much better about running something in the "current" Star Wars universe. But the movies and novels (which I know aren't canon) get in the way, for me. Actually, I'm not too fond of the NJO anyway. I'd much rather play in the Old Republic Era. You know - the time when Sith wasn't such a four letter word. :D
Seriously. I would love to find a few more Star Wars players. I have three right now but only one really gets what I am trying to do. :(

Im guessing that maybe liscensing prevents WOTC from doing source stuff outside the three timelines they keep pushing? Anyone know- Does Darkhorse or maybe someone else have rights to Old Republic time?

Id love to see a source book- the Mandalorians would be a great enemy and Itd be nice to game when there isnt that"there can only be 2 Sith" rule.

Ive been mulling DMing a game set either in the Old Republic or post battle of Endor restored Republic-but one that breaks with the New Republic/New Jedi Order continuity. Hmm maybe even a messageboard game

They may have the comic book rights but they don't publish RPGs so those rights would still belong to Lucasbooks. But, who knows for sure. *shrugs*

Yup. Bring it all on. :)

I could see WotC/Lucasbooks taking advantage of the popularity of KoTOR and bringing a book like this out. I may actually start posting on the WotC boards just to voice my desire for such a book. They are already releasing a Star Wars Campaign setting book next month (the Galactic Campaign Guide) so the company is willing to make a larger setting book. One for this time period may take a little time to make and probably wouldn't be out until GenCon of next at the earliest. This is assuming someone isn't already writing it. :D

Found this in the post GenCon report at SWRPGnetwork:

A Tales of the Jedi sourcebook has been talked about, and is a good idea, and if it happens it will probably include information from the recent Knights of the Old Republic video game, including possibly the Jedi Sentinel. Additionally, the developers of KOTOR used design documents of the Star Wars d20 to design the game, so reverse engineering wouldn't be a problem.

Sweet. I smell a sourcebook in 2004. :D

That would be my number one RPG purchase for next year. Even if I never ran it I would still love a sourcebook for that Era. :cool:

Wow.

I just finished the game for the first time playing a darker-than-dark soldier/Jedi guardian. Just... wow. I, as you can probably tell, am very impressed with the game. I loved the open-endedness of it, and how the choices have sometimes drastic consequences. The bickering party members were great, as was the fact that you weren't necessarily saddled with light-side party members. For those who intend to play it on the Xbox, make sure you don't have too many saves. I ended up with something on the order of 178 saves before I realized each one took up 1600 blocks of space.

All in all, I think KOTOR has usurped Halo's "best Xbox game ever" throne.

I'm just curious why it is that a useless backwater planet like Tattoine is so important in galactic history.

I've been wondering about that for years, the best I've come up with is that it was in the first movie and everyone since assumes it must be included in ever star wars related thing since.

It's actually not. :)

Just so happens that it is a familiar locale in the Star Wars universe and something that fans are familiar with. To me, it serves as a reminder of humble beginnings and how they can effect things (Anakin, Luke, Star Map, etc.) on a universal scale. As for it being useless, it's obviously not that but it is definately backwater. It also serves as a place where not many folks go because of the desert environment and much can happen there that can't because of laws and the like. Kinda like an American Old West thing... :)

Okay, just beat it for the first time.

Damn, that was fun. The devs really made it feel like Star Wars. :cool:

I played it totally Light Side the first time around and now I'm going to try it Dark Side style to get the other ending. Damn that was fun! I will eat up whatever sourcebook they come out with for this game/time period. :D
