Star Wars Saga/D&D 5th Hybrid [OOC/Rolls]

Let me revise that... you can connect the mining camp although there is a lot of static. You could rely your message to Footfall and Rell through their rely but they might be able to listen in...

Also. Binder Fred, in your last post, when you referred to the human being willing to turn against their republics own interests, were you referring to Cal or Jihahna? Just curious. I assume Cal, given Jihahna is a merc and is not really loyal to the republic.

I believe the gand was referring to the fact that the Republic needs what is being produced in the mines for the war effort, so they probably won't be too enthused with talks of shutting down mining operations. With that said, that wasn't really part of our agreement with the Survey Corps. Additionally, Cal isn't really officially affiliated with the Republic either, other than being a citizen of one of its member planets.

I still think there is an avenue for a political solution, based on what Thirteen stated.

"Republic law would grant any sentient primitive natives protective status and make allowances for protective lands and sanctuaries. But while we are within the Republic's borders, this planet is not a Republic member planet. The Republic could extend those benefits and protective status, but with the current political situation I am unsure if they will without compelling evidence."

Regardless of being in the Outer Rim, the planet is within the confines of the Republic. Dathomir, however, is not a member planet, likely because there was no known native sentient species to petition for inclusion (although it's a stretch to think the Kwi would agree to it). Granted, the Republic doesn't have the ability to really exercise that power all the way out here after their recent losses, so any claim would be somewhat notional. But if a way can be found to both appease the Kwi as well as continue producing what is needed for the war effort, I would think the Republic would do their best to extend those protections.

There could be other places mining could continue. The prohibition seems to be limited to this one specific area. It's a big planet. Kacela would be fine with that.

They're called Passive checks in 5th ed. They "...can represent the average result for a task being done repeatedly, such as searching for secret doors over and over again..."

The formula is identical to taking 10.

Hmm yea I guess they do have Passive so that could work... so yes Forge Fury if Cal wants to use his Passive Stealth he can. Also anyone else can also, but you should decide before you roll. So this Gand still is going to get a 6. The mercs might be distracted so he MIGHT still be ok but I want to see what the rest of the group is going to do. If you all want to sneak up you could make a group-check but I prefer that you all have to roll for that...

This is saying that deciding to take extra care to be silent runs the heavy risk of being less silent (50% chance, to be exact). Does not compute. I'm thinking situations should either require the use of passive stats, or rolling (in which case distractions are best represented by either disadvantage/maluses on the other side's passive perception (-5, as I recall) or advantage on Stealth rolls, representing a situation 'helping' by covering the sounds we would otherwise make?).

The gand thinks the Kwi want to lock up the entire chain that cuts through the northern continent? He/she tried to narrow it down, if you recall, but the Kwi would not, agreeing that "the mountains are vast" and that all of them could be demon territory.
