I note that in the statblock there is no strength bonus given to the vibroblade damage, which would be an interesting change if Str didn't add to powered weapons in general.

It says
Melee vibroblade +3 (2d6+3)
and his Str is 16. Looks like Str bonus to attack and damage to me.

Um. Wow. That's...

That's a really, really gorgeous stat block, is what that is.

You could fit all of that on a D&D/SW Minis card with some efficient templating, WITHOUT SIMPLIFYING. I'm loving the saves as AC and the triple HP. The unfiied condition track is also very interesting.

I actually love the Saves as defenses myself. It fixes a...problem I was aware of. Allow me to explain:

I was designing an alternative magic system for d20 (primarily Iron Heroes). I wanted to require a caster check to cast spells. The problem is that requiring a caster check caused a double roll problem: Roll to cast, Roll to Save. That stinks.

By fixing the Saving Throws as Condition Defenses, you create something very interesting. The caster has to overcome his target's Will Defense, or Reflex Defense, or Fortitude Defense. Of course, porting this to Iron Heroes wouldn't take much effort, since those classes get all their saves at (+ Level). Also interesting is that the Ref save and the Excellent Defense progression (which no class gets...) are the same.

It looks to me like weapons have to overcome the Fortitude defense (+ some bonus due to armor, perhaps?) to cause movement on the condition track. That means a high-level character is more resistant to a blaster shot than a low-level character, in addition to being able to better avoid getting hit.

It's an interesting switch to tie Defense/AC to the same mechanic as the Reflex save.

My favourite bit was the reference to "future products". Hopefully there will be some!
I'm waiting on WotC to officially announce and confirm two new SWRPG products that is up on Amazon.com. Of course, plans could change from now until the books' intended release dates.

Skills list is interesting too

Skills Climb +3 (may take 10 even when distracted), Endurance +7, Perception +6, Persuasion –1 (may reroll checks to intimidate), Pilot +5, Stealth +5

Presumably Stealth == hide in shadows + move silently
Perception == spot + listen (+/- search?)
Spot, Listen, in addition to Smell, Taste, Touch (not skills previously).
