Wow, I was waiting for someone else to start this!
I'm gonna start with Atlantis, because my feelings about this episode are easier to express. I personally thought the episode rocked. Pretty much all of the characters were spot on this week, and the premise made great sense (except the merging storms thing, but that was minor).
I'm not sure why Sheppard is allowed to negotiate... he's obviously the most incompetent person out there to do it. Hopefully Teyla steps up into that role eventually, as her character seems to be much better at it. Also, was it really necessary to explain the whole grounding station plan twice? And why wasn't there a transporter near the far ones? I'm also surprised the Genai didn't want McKay as well, to force him to do research, since he did offer once already to help them. Ah well, mostly minor things, I think.
SG-1 on the other hand... it seemed really contrived to me. It's obviously a setup for a huge war, because Baal must know that the poison is coming from Earth. Maybe I just was bleh because I figured it out in about ten minutes of show time. Also, I'm fairly willing to bet we're gonna see Jack step down as the leader at the end of this season... he's just no good at it.
Sam and Daniel have a great rapport on the screen, and in a way I'm glad Jack isn't there so we can see them interact more. Also, Sam kicking one guy's butt with her hands behind he back while Daniel gets his butt handed to him was cool. Overall though, I was a bit diappointed with SG-1 this episode, and really this entire season so far.
