-- Get the ship to 100% and then look for a way home. He is being careful with his resourses but does not know how to work with the civillians. His problems lie with the frame and lack of trust being generated by Rush & Wray.
Yeah, I agree completely. Of the three "leaders" I would trust Young the most, since his goal is likely to make sure everyone gets home safely, and that's it. He's probably also working under some sort of protocols the military set up with gate missions, long before the program went international, and remember that in both SG-1 and Atlantis the team leaders felt they should never leave anyone behind. His biggest problem is that he has no political skills which he needs to persuade or inspire the civilians; the military personnel just need to follow order, but it's harder with civilians.
I also don't know why the IOA wants Wray to be in charge. (What possible political gain can they get from being in command of a ship several galaxies away?) So I don't know why Wray thinks she can do a better job.
Because they're the IOA, that's why. They always do crap like this. They don't like the military personnel involved with the Stargate program, and they're always trying to grab control. That's why Woolsey was put in charge of Atlantis; but at least he respected the military officers and he was smart enough to realize that sometimes the rules had to be bent a little to win even if he didn't like it. That and Woolsey is the only IOA member I can think of that didn't come off as a horse's ass or obstructive bureaucrat.
And that's where our problem is with Wray. She doesn't respect Young or the troops under his command. Both times she tried to take power, she pushed the military people off to the side and treated then like they weren't important. This was even more glaring in "Justice" when Young was temporarily relieved of command, her attitude toward the military felt like, "I don't need any of you so put your guns away and stay out of our way while we do important stuff here".
Plus I think her superior is supposed to be Russian or something, so there's probably politics involved, he'd doesn't like the idea of American soldiers running the show on Destiny.
