According to d20srd.org, the ogre does indeed, have a 10 foot reach. So, it's different from 3.x, at least. Can't speak for 4e.

Yeah, just checked my 4e MM and they all have Reach 2 (10').

Not a huge change, but I don't know if I like it. I have always envisioned Ogres swinging a big-a:):) club around with a wide reach.

Love the art though!

I really like the nothic's chunky list of abilities. Feels just like the 4e version. And yeah, surprised at the ogre's short reach. 4e ogres have a reach of 2, but not threatening reach (can't make OAs or flank at range 2).

Just looking at the Dead in Thay monsters (which are very close to final, it seems)...

10 ft. reach exists for:
Aboleth (large)
Behir (huge),
Choker (small),
Displacer Beast (large),
Dragon Turtle (gargantuan) - bite only, claw 5 ft
Earth Elemental (large),
Efreeti (large),
Giant Viper Snake (medium),
Glabrezu (large),
Grell (medium)
Otyugh (medium) - tentacle only, bite 5 ft
Pit Fiend (large) - mace only, claw 5 ft
Remorhaz (huge)
Spirit Naga (large)
Wyvern (large) - stinger only

15 ft. Reach:
Ooze Master (Gargantuan)

5 ft Reach and Large creature:
Air Elemental
Beholder
Black Pudding
Carrion Crawler
Clay Golem
Elder Black Pudding (gargantuan)
Fire Elemental
Gelatinous Cube
Gorgon
Hezrou
Hook Horror
Hunter Shark
Iron Golem
Leucrotta
Merrow
Ochre Jelly
Ogre Zombie
Owlbear
Sahuagin Baron
Shambling Mound
Stone Golem
Troll
Vrock
Water Elemental
White Maw (gargantuan)
Yeti

Seems much more of a special ability of some monsters rather than an assumed ability based on size.

Cheers!
