True, but it does change the early game, considerably.I thought giving 1st level characters more hit points was a good idea. It doesn't seem like it would unbalance a higher level game.
From the discussion in the Beta rules, it sounded like the authors liked the idea of starting with more hits. I'm wondering why this was taken out. There seems to be no mention in the Core Rules, it's not even offered as an optional rule.
