Starting Hit Points

Okay, as per the arguments I'm hearing, this is way too much. How about double maximum starting hit points plus con bonus? Alternatively I could give every character maximum starting hit points, plus their con bonus times three, in this case each character would start with a minimum con of 12 and roll d6. A roll of 5 or 6 warrants a second roll. The second roll would be added to the base Con score. Thoughts?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

As per starting at a higher level, sure, the PCs could just have maximum hit points possible for their class, but what I'm shooting for is first level feel, with an extended lifespan. This is an outer planes campaign, after all.

Give then a magic item each, with limited charges.
Aid for example.
By the time they reach 3rd or so level, the item is out of charges and they don't need it.
And if the campaign is so tough, You may want to have first a_and_ second level at Max hp's.
Seen it done before and it works.
And, if the monsters don't have the same max HP, at least the first dice, then lower the CR's, etc.

How about making the Character's Half-Celestial , Half-fiend or even Elemental Plane Touched variaties of the races they choose, since Genasi are based on humans their racial modifiers could be used like a template. There is no reason of course to say that they can't play with uped HP its just (and this is strictly my opinion) to me it would make sense for characters who start in the Outer Planes and pretty much all non-material planes would be outsiders.
