Staves

hey guys, I would need your input on my character... Its a level 13 elf hybrid Druid ranger (blood moon stalker or sometnig PP). I'll be using a staff of battle to be able to crit on 19-20 on my twin strike. Since im using staff, i'm wondering what are the feats that i should get. here's what i have right now :

Hybrid Talent (beastmaster)
Gain a talent option from one of your hybrid classes
Beast Protector
Attack against beast provokes opportunity attack from you
Weapon Focus (Staff)
Gain +1 damage per tier with Staffs.
Focused Expertise (Quarterstaff)
Gain bonus to attack rolls with Quarterstaffs.
Two-Weapon Fighting
+1 damage while holding a melee weapon in each hand
Two-Weapon Defense
+1 to AC and Reflex while holding a weapon in each hand
Vital Form
Regain second wind when you use wild shape
Quick Wild Shape
Use wild shape as a free action

Focused Expertise by level 15.

Weapon Focus before Two Weapon Fighting (it gives a bonus to all attacks, and a larger bonus)

Anything else is by taste.

Remember one tricky thing with TWD/TWF and using a staff in one hand. Held in one hand it is a legal implement, but NOT a legal weapon. Now if you're DM is allowing the Staff Fighting + DIS thing to treat it like two implements then you're gold, but otherwise holding a staff in one hand doesn't qualify you as being armed with two weapons. Kind of a minor point but one that people often miss with staves.

Incorrect. To reduce damage you want to reduce outcomes of damage.

[...]

If all your defenses are targetted the same amount, you reduce incoming damage the same no matter which defense you improve.
Right, but what starfox says still makes sense: if you're going to bother optimizing defense a little, you should consider going whole hog. It just so happens that AC is the most-targeted.

In any case, even though defenses have increasing returns, the feats do not, so it's not a clear matter. I mean, leather grants +2 AC for a feat, SF +1 ("sorta") for a feat, TWF+TWF grants +1AC +1Ref +1damage for two...
