Much of the coverage about Stella Liebeck has been grossly unfair. When you have a more complete summary of the facts, you might change your mind about her.
Hm, nope. I still think the whole thing is as retarded as I previously thought.

lol, people will sue for anything now a days, heck mabye I should sue tha goverment, cuz I was in tha woods running, and tripped over a log. brused my ancle...and when I fell there was a snake on tha ground by that log......tha sighn did say government woodlands.........geesh.......

Could the original poster please edit the post to make clear that those lawsuits were fictional, or at the very least they were not won by the people who filed them? The less misinformation going around, the better.

Holy Bacon batman (that wasn't even remotely funny :uhoh: )

That really changes the 'case' (get it? case, lawsuit? :uhoh: ) to a less retarded situation

Would those be the actual Stella awards at stellaawards.com, the site that I linked in my original post?
Yeah, I just figured it was worth spelling out that those were fakes, because not everyone is going to actually follow the link (or even look at the spoiler, for that matter). Plus it was nice to contrast the "fake" Stella awards list with the real one - which is a lot more reasonable.

...you'll notice that amost of them are for people filing frivolous lawsuits, not typiclly about them actually winning those lawsuits.
Some are though, which is bizare enough.
True, although it's only 2 out of 7, and there isn't enough information in the article to figure out on what legal grounds the person actually won that claim.

For example, if the phone book actually had a separate section on Board Certified liposuction specialists and accidentally (or even knowingly) included a non-certified dermatologist, that could definitely make them liable for damages.

Likewise, if those teens dropping off cookies on the old lady's front porch deliberately ignored the "Private property - No trespassing!" sign in her front yard to do so...

It needs to be a bigger sign! Sue them! ;)
