After over a year of delay (thanks to illness), we have the ball rolling on Titans of Fallen Earth, a new "kaiju versus mecha" RPG. But don't be fooled: this isn't your typical Power Rangers or Voltron stand-in. Titans will have enough crunch to make wargamers happy, plus punchy combat, tons of Titan optimization, and a complete post-apocalyptic setting with multiple factions. Like everything we do, the book is steeped in nostalgia. If you like the Terminator, if you like Aliens... if you like a bit of Starship Troopers meets classic 80s Godzilla movies and old school anime... then you won't be disappointed! The book is about 80% complete and should clock in at the 200-page mark.
Gameplay:
- D6 dice pool system: big rolls, fast combat. Did I mention big rolls? It's a kaiju game after all!
- Skill-based system where your abilities as a pilot translate to your Titan.
- 3 major factions with 2 fleshed out Titan classes each. 50+ weapons and upgrades for every Titan class.
- Play as a mech pilot, a kaiju, or a soldier on the ground. GM guidelines for each.
- Full kaiju bestiary with stats ready to go. Pre-statted mechs ready out of the gate to get into scenarios fast.
- Wargame elements: let players fight other players as Titan pilots versus giant monsters.
- Deadly combat: it's a grim world. Use strategy and work as a team, or fall in battle.
- A post-apocalyptic, cyberpunk, retro-futurist alternate 1980s. Meet me somewhere between Terminator, Mad Max, and Evangelion!
- A complete story and cohesive goals for each faction.
- Colorful NPCs with unique personalities.
- Play as the savior of humanity... or its enemy if you wish!
- Every chapter has a completely unique theme, look, and feel.
- Atmospheric art with a semi-realistic, comic-booky vibe. Should bring you back to those old-school anime days.
- Complete rules summaries and chart indexes.
- Hardcover coming as part of our Kickstarter in the near future! Easy fulfillment with no delays this time.
- Yes, we plan to have an accompanying synthwave soundtrack, composed by my co-author Franklin Mills (aka Gemini Echoes.)
