Stephen Colbert on Gygax

As I mentioned on the RPG.net message boards, Anderson Cooper (360) also mentioned Gary Gygax last night. He also confessed to being a "D&D geek" back in the day.

Edit:

Found it! You can see video of last night's show here:

At about the 24th minute he states:

Anderson Cooper: "You know I heard sad news today that the guy who invented Dungeons & Dragons passed away. Do you remember...

Erica Hill: "I saw that as well..."

AC: "I was a big Dungeons & Dragons geek. I admit it."

EH: "Really?"

AC: "Yes I was."

We are legion!

:D

While I am sad about Gygax's passing I am glad that it is bringing some of the gamers out of the wood work.

EH: "Wow..."

AC: "What?"

EH "I've suddenly lost what little respect I had left for you completely."

:p

Hmph, he didn't really make a comment about Gary Gygax, just a comment about "that guy who invented Dungeons and Dragons." :\

To be frank, I was less than pleased that most left-wing media outlets covered this event. In most cases it was like some sick joke at the least and more of a 'how pathetic that people still care' in the other direction.

Though Stephen Colbert probably would have handled things a little differently, (He did eye the crowd a bit when the LAUGHED at the news) I still think I'm glad I missed this last night or I might have gotten extremely angry.

Colbert has mentioned DnD before so he wasn't being a jerk. He did write a bit for the 30th anniversary DnD coffee table book, if I recall correctly.
