Just to clear things up a bit... We figure most folks will have the MM if they're into 3e D&D at all (especially folks that want to use creature templates for this contest), so it's a nice "common ground", so to speak. Working with creatures from the MM enables us to work within the restrictions of the SRD (no stuff from Monsters of Faerun, MotP, etc.) with an ample supply of OGC for everyone to play with. Other books that we know are popular (such as the Tome of Horrors), and that we know are 100% OGC (including monster names) can also be used if they are available prior to the end of the contest. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough before. Hope this helps!

As a friendly reminder, there are now fewer than fifteen days remaining in our Book of Templates contest (see details above in this very thread). The submissions we have received so far are very promising, so if you haven't sent anything in yet, it's time to get crackin'! We look forward to seeing more of the devious and cunning creations of the GMs out there and getting those ideas circulated in the Deluxe Edition! Best of luck... still...
