Kuther - 19
Kenn - 16
Eel
Kathan - 5
Sailors

Kuther bellows out his challenge, but the Eel doesn't seem overly concerned by this. However, with his challenge, the crew is alerted to his presence on deck, and it appears that some people are willing to aid the Eel.

"I left two crossbowmen at the docks. They get paid the same whether I take you alive or dead. I get paid more if you come in alive. We can both be happy here."
"Nice prepwork. Ye're aware they'll killya and take yer money and me t to max their gains, right?"

"That's why I like warforged: treachery isn't in their natures."

Kenn pulls a stiletto out of his coat and moves menacingly in the Eel's direction, though not actually into a square he threatens yet, and hopefully keeping him from noticing Kathan.

Kathan, you could rap him over the head any second now, please...

[sblock=OOC]
For some reason, I thought I had a sap, but it appears I don't unless I am remembering borrowing Kenn's at some point... In any case, if I don't I guess I would have drawn my morningstar... Sorry about that...
[/sblock]

Creeping up behind the Eel while Kenn draws his attention, Kathan pulls his fist back and attempts to club him one in the back of the head.

Attack: 1d20=18

Unarmed/Sneak Attack Damage: 1d3=2, 1d6=3

Kathan's fist crashes down along the side of the Eel's head, but even though it impacts soundly, the smuggler stands.

(Eel - 5 nonlethal damage)

Among the sailors, open melee breaks out, some trying to reach the Eel and the party, others trying to prevent that. Just then, the Angelina floats dangerously close to a cliff and shakes (Balance check DC 10, everyone). Dusky falls down, as do six sailors, but Captain Pepper, the Eel, and the rest of the crew remain upright. The captain rushes to Dusky, shouting "What is the meaning of this mutiny?"

Overhead, you hear screeching, and anyone who looks up sees a couple of small drakes, seeming to investigate the ship from their vantage point.

That was my fist, not my morningstar. Hence the d3, and not the d8. So, subdual this round, but you can be sure I'm going lethal in the next. Also... am I missing something? In mass combat PbP, do you post your all of your potential actions for the round, and then the DM uses the appropriate ones when the time comes?

Balance: 1d20-1=5

Kathan lurches and hits the deck hard.

Kenn reflects he used to do this with a squad of the watch backing him up.
Eight guys with crossbows would be really handy right now...
He steps towards the Eel, hoping the watch squad turns out not to be a fatal omission.

His knees flex smoothly as the ship bucks beneath him.
Kenn's balance check (1d20+2=16)

Time to toss the dice.
He takes three swift strides towards the Eel and swings the sap hard for his temple.
Oh Sovereign Host, get me through this and I swear I'll go to fighter school.

The musical *TCHUNK* of the sap striking perfectly is the sweetest sound he has ever heard.

(Charging +2 to hit, I believe I should be able to get a sneak attack, as we were trying to flank him, plus he may have unstable footing from the ship's rocking.)
Kenn's attack and damage (1d20+2=22, 1d6=5, 1d6=4)
The first d6 is weapon damage, the second d6 is for sneak attack, if any.
20 is a critical threat, rolling to confirm and generate critical damage. I believe the +2 charge bonus applies to the critical as well.
Kenn's critical roll (1d20+2=3, 1d6=5)
*Sigh*
Total either 5 or 9 points of subdual damage.)
