Stomp?

Hey, are there any Stomp-like feats or abilities out there? I am working on a PrC tilted towards half-orcs/large guys that will give them the ability to crush/pin someone with a foot instead of just walking up and swinging a flail at her while prone. There would be no charging involved, as this is just for tripping then pinning some unlucky character while still standing.

Thanks -

Well, take the -20 to your grapple check for grappling with one limb... I'm sure you could find a feat that could reduce that penalty, though it sets a killer precident when you can give that feat to your tentacle monsters. Hmm, how much would that feat take off the penalty? 4 points off is standard, but seems a little, weak, given that you'd have a big ol' -16 left to deal with. Perhapse half the penalty; -10 is a lot easier to stomach, and I'm sure you could make a big BAB and Str requirement to offset the rest of the penalty..

Any other ideas?

hmm, usually monsters and such use that -20 so that not only are they not considered grappling but then they can move with the grappled person. Or maybe I'm not reading it correctly. At any rate, with what your describing, you could work something into the fact that the person doing the foot pinning stomp manuver can't move, or more vulnerable to others (beyond the normal grappling, if you use that mechanic).

I can't see you being MORE vulnerable, standing on a foe, because you're not prone, and still have a weapon out!

No only do you keep your Dex bonus to Defense, but you still threaten an area, and can attack your opponent with your melee weapon at no (or little) penalty (only on your iterative attacks, as you need to maintain that pin, right?). You can't move, but aren't prone and haven't lost dex, and you can still make AoO's, so that's not more vulnerable by a long shot. I'd say that's easily worth a -20 to grapple checks.

I was trying to weigh the benefit of holding someone "grappled" under your foot and you not be, with something other than the -20 to a grapple check. I was thinking of something like the Dwarven Defender's stance ability. Something where you couldn't move, got a benefit (ie holding someone else prone), but because of that you gain some disadvantage.

No need to get overly excited, just trying to help MarauderX with fleshing out this interesting ability.

No need. Halforc Stomper is a Dancer prestige class in the new Stealth & Style from Kenzer (variant class book).

If he´s next to a prone dude, he gets one stomp attack per round as a free action that causes 1d6+strength mod damage. Later it improves somehow...

Sorry. Did get a little carried away there. I apoligise, and shall watch myself more carefully.

One way to do it could be that you have a move which allows you to Pin an opponent who is prone with your foot. This would be exactly like a normal Pin, except that you may use melee weapons against the creature you've pinned without penalty (still gaining the bonus to hit it for being prone), but if the creature succeeds its grapple check to break the pin, it breaks free of the 'grapple' entirely.
