"Stone Soup" Campaign Ideas

Pragmatic

First Post
Not sure if I'm using "stone soup" correctly here. Basically, I mean "combine elements of different settings into an interesting whole"...

I was reading "Champions of Valor" (a supplement from Forgotten Realms 3E on playing "exalted" characters and groups, using material from the Book of Exalted Deeds), and read up on the "Guardians of the Weave," an organization of good spellcasters who oppose evil spellcasters, evil gods of magic, and especially Shar and the Shadow Weave.

And it struck me: This would be a good place to bring in the Wizards of High Sorcery (DragonLance). With a little tweaking (make it more about protecting the Weave, and less about opposing evil spellcasters and evil gods who use the Weave), it could fit in a modified Forgotten Realms setting, especially one where Mystra was more her 1E version (Lawful Neutral, rather than Neutral Good). It'd be a good organization, with an explanation of why that Red Wizard of Thay could be hanging out with the Cormyrian War Wizard (there's a threat to the Weave, so they set aside their differences to defeat a Sharran plot).

(Still trying to figure out how to shoehorn Dark Sun defilers and preservers into the mix...)

So what "stone soup" have you guys used to create Frankensteinian abominations that are of interest to you? :)
