Stoneskin and Protection from Arrows

Tjaden

First Post
I remember a debate awhile ago my gaming group was having over whether the spell Stoneskin protects from ranged missles as well as melee weapons. Because the spell doesn't specify that you are protected from arrows, it only says cuts, blows, stabs, and slashes. And if it didn't that would make sense for the existence of the Protection from Arrows spell. I can see it being eithe way, but I'm just wondering what you all think, thanks.

I am going to be very blunt here.

Stoneskin grants Damage Reduction 10/+5 preventing up to 10 hp/caster level (max 150 hp).

What part of this is unclear.

What is an arrow wound if not a stab?

Also, Prot. / arrows and Stoneskin make sense side by side. One is lower level, but provides less protection against a more restrictive number of attacks. It makes up for this by getting rid of the high gp material component.
