Went to DragonCon this year. There was a dealer hawking 5 D20 books for $20. Had hundreds and hundreds of books filling several shelves surrounding his table. Crowds of people walked up, poured through, and walked away empty-handed. I was one of those people. Although I was pleased to see the sheer number of Fast Forward products on those shelves, it was overall a saddening experience.

Felon,

I was there as well. And I was very surprised I couldn't find a single book there I wanted to buy, even if it meant getting three or four books for free!

Hi Darkfang,

I'm sorry you're not satisfied with Primeval Groves. I'd be happy to offer a refund. Send back the book to the address below with a request for exchange or refund.

As for Primeval Groves, it appears that the book went to press using a nonfinal draft of the manuscript. We'll often use an early draft to mock up the layout for art orders, then swap it out when the final draft is ready. However, it looks like in this case the printer ended up with the wrong version.

Here's the address:

Goodman Games
672 Woodland Ave. SE
Atlanta, GA 30316

Very cool of you. I like Goodman stuff and this assures that I will continue to purchase stuff from you.

You may want to fire your printer though.

Oh...
My...
GOD!

You have my undying sympathy, since that has happend to me once with a PDF product. It was... Terrifying... to say the least...

I can't picture what having an edit copy go to print would feel like, and I wish you well in recovery from your ulcers...

Ouch,

Ouch. I can sympathize with you. When I worked at HarperCollins, we had a very high profile book go all the way through to the start of the first printing before it was caught by the author that we had used the wrong draft of her manuscript for everything-copyediting, layout, prepress proofs, everything was done, then when she saw one of the first press proof copies she asked us "Where is the chapter with XYZ? And why is this still in here?" Talk about being red faced. We had to pulp 35,000+ books that had been printed and start over.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is absolute class. That's a perfect example of why these guys impress me.

You have my sympathies, Joseph. That absolutely stinks. I think the only thing to do is to get an errata out as soon as you can, and let fans know about the problem.

Despite the error by GG, I think they have put out far many better products than they have bad ones. I would have thought you would have cut them some slack on the editing problems. Especially, now that they have done a mea culpa (which is utterly classy by the way).
