“Well, shall we rest ‘ere f’r the night an’ set oot in the mornin’?” Dren asked the others. He rolled up his sleeves a little, revealing red tattoos of flaming fire snakes wrapping around his thick arms.

"That sounds good," says Tranio. "I'm going to make one more pass through town before we do, if that's okay. Anyone want to come?"

Tranio will make one more pass through town, with or with out accompaniment, first casting Detect Magic (10 minutes, recast if needed).

If he sees any indications of magic that they've missed, he will investigate.

Is Spuds still outside? If so, he offers to bring him in, and thank him for his patience. Tranio will ensure he's fed. If not, Tranio will talk about the walk ahead of them tomorrow.

In any case, he'll offer to take the first shift.

Carolina considers pocketing the pouch with the gold and the gems, but decides it would be better spent earning the trust of her companions. She brings the pouch and vial to the others and then follows Tranio to scout the rest of the village.

OOC: Don't remember if this Morak fellow is alive or not. Obviously, if he is, then she won't take his stuff. But if not...

OOC: Odd that he went on a trek into the woods with giants about and left his armor. She'll figure he's probably dead and chance it. She'll take his stuff to add to the party treasure (whoever is keeping track of that...).

Round 0

“I’ll join ye,” Dren told Tranio, following the cleric out of the tavern for another pass around the town.

OOC: I can keep a party treasure list at the bottom of my posts.

When they returned, Carolina had laid out some items she found in the wreckage. Dren picked up the gemstones to examine them to try and determine their worth.

Intelligence check to appraise gems (If stonecunning applies, add +4): 1D20 = [15] = 15

Then Dren picked up the strange potion. He held it up to a candle to examine it, then popped the cork and dipped his finger in to taste to see if he could determine what it was.

Arcana check on potion: 1D20 = [2] = 2
Perception check on potion: 1D20+2 = [14]+2 = 16

Chain mail (dwarf-sized)
Dwarven helm
45 gp
2 bright gemstones
Blue potion that bubbles and steams as if boiling

Dren: Together the two gemstones could fetch around 100 gold piece. The drop tastes very familiar as you drank many potions of heroism in your youth.

Tranio:

Spuds is indeed outside, sleeping in a pile of his namesake. He is grateful for the food, but shaken by the tragedy that has befallen Nightstone. He is willing to follow the villagers' tracks in his wagon, but will charge 2 gold a passenger for this more dangerous trip.

You detect small traces of magic coming from a nearby cottage. This house has closed shutters over its windows and the door has row upon row of ornate runes burned into it.

Fistan
Wizard 2

After seeing the mercenary cavalry leave Fistan joins in the search of the village. Thanks to Tranio's magic they spot a rune guarded house, which draws Fistan to investigate.

_: 1D20+5 = [16]+5 = 21
Should say Arcna roll.

OOC: Fistan found 32 gp and 17 sp in the town registrar's office. I wasn't going to keep it initially, but it will most likely be looted before the townsfolk are back.

Also thanks KahlessNestor for the bookkeeping.

"Thanks, Spuds," says Tranio, committing 2gp from himself, at any rate. "Why don't you come inside for the night?"

Searching the village, Tranio will take advice from Fistan before meddling with the sealed door. Twilight grows on apace.
