Strange New Worlds season 2 - SPOILERS

I am really happy they dropped the daughter storyline for Mbenga
I think the daughter's storyline reached a resolution last season.
Now clearly something weird is going on with the medical bay, is there something that its alluding to I should know if I was "really paying attention?" Or is it just foreshadowing something that hasn't been revealed yet.
I could be wrong but I think it was intended to be symbolism showing that M'Benga himself is still a bit broken.

I could be wrong but I think it was intended to be symbolism showing that M'Benga himself is still a bit broken.
It could also be foreshadowing another breakdown for him in the future? Possibly even this season (the biobed didn't last long, one should call it biobad)? But maybe it's left as an open thread to be maybe picked up another time.

I thought the conversation between Pike and M'Benga at the end was really interesting. Pike realizing that M'Benga has things in his past that have marked him beyond the usual Starfleet ideals. There are dark parts of M'Benga kept isolated from his friendship with Pike.

Star Trek has examined war before but never like this.

Not sure how I feel about a member of the crew seemingly straight-up murdering the ambassador. It seems very un-Star Trek to me, but was a very well written episode.
That definitely wasn't a straight-up murder.
You get closer to that with Data using the Varon-T disruptor, only blocked by a transporter deactiving the gun mid-transport.
Or Worf killing Duras. Or Worf kiling Weyoun 6(?). Or Worf killing Gowron.

Ultimately, they did leave it a little open ended as to whether MBenga really started the fight or not....but at the end of the day he repeated his confirmation twice AND chapel confirmed it....so the assumption is he actually didn't start the fight....just finished it.

Even that's ambiguous, though. Does he mean that the ambassador started the fight in the sickbay? Or that he started the fight years ago when he started slaughtering children, and now it's finally finished?
