Strength Draining attacks and magic resistance

"An incorporeal creature with 19 hp is great if the enemies can't hit it. I'm careful about which combats I let my shadow take part in. And it's easy for him to get away from combat - he just has to drop into the ground!"

exactly how I use him.

"Hm... Strength drain. Against mind flayers

"Hahaha, look, they're lying there, unable to move. Isn't that pathetic!"
"Yes, I thi..oooooooooooooooooo"
"Why do I suddenly think that I should call off my shadow and use my restoration magic to give them their strength back? Of course, they're superior life forms, and I'm just a groveling worm. Silly me. Can't wait to serve their freakishly oversized brain they have as leader." "

One of the ones in the campagin im in is a warrior one so imagine how good at grappling he is. SO the plan is if he grapples me he loses dex its a touch attack so hopefully he will lose enough str for me to get away before he sucks my face off. My DM is just plain nasty. :)

Isn't being drained to 0 Str by a Shadow fatal?

Well, yes; yes, it is. :)

Strength Damage (Su): The touch of a shadow deals 1d6 points of Strength damage to a living foe. A creature reduced to Strength 0 by a shadow dies. This is a negative energy effect.

AND!!!!! Even better!!!!

SRD said:
Create Spawn (Su): Any humanoid reduced to Strength 0 by a shadow becomes a shadow under the control of its killer within 1d4 rounds.

Holy crap. Shadowdancers just got a lot more interesting ...

OK, it's not as cool as I thought:

At 3rd level, a shadowdancer can summon a shadow, an undead shade. Unlike a normal shadow, this shadow’s alignment matches that of the shadowdancer, and the creature cannot create spawn.

Oh well.

Hrm. At first I thought "And strength drain isn't covered by Death Ward, either!" But the shadow's strength drain is specifically a negative energy effect, so...

You could always be a master of shrouds. At higher levels you can pump out 4 shadows a round.

If I'm not mistaken there are also some wizard spells that allow you to control shadows, with no penalty to the creating of spawn.

But no, us rogues will never be able to have vast undead armies *shrug*.
