You're missing what I'm saying.
Strixhaven as a Wizard college is as generic fantasy as the Boros Legion being a magic police/army.
However WOTC didn't attempt to sell us a Boros Legionary fighter subclass that shoots lightning helixes.
WOTC did try to sell a Silverquil College Wizard.
Had WOTC went with Magic School Wizard, College of Schools Bard, Magic Domain, Academy Sorcerer, and Arcane Pact Warlock, they likely would have gotten in the book.
But it would built of specific colleges designed on a MTGism: colors. It wasn't built off a D&Dism like power sources, alignment, outsiders, social classes, adventurer classes, or races. Nor was the college just examples. Jamming Lorehold or Silverquill in any setting might prove clunky. But a Lawful Evil house? That's very D&D.
