Are people truly so stupid? I mean REALLY?

Gahh!!! It makes me want to go out and start culling....

Go a better one.

Its for one of those Wieght Loss Plans (not sure which one).

Basically you have various Skinny People talking about how the were Fat & once they started this Program they lost all this wieght.

It has the standard Disclaimers (you know, combine with Diet & Exercise to be effective; even though the ad indicates "Sit on Rear. Lose Weight".

My favorite part:

Girl in Bikini Says "How can you argue with Results like these?"

Little line of text at the bottom "Results not Typical."

I'd say my argument would be your Results weren't typical....

Oh, wait. You already said that.

Yep. Brillant piece of Dialogue there.

My wife is a translator. She translates Chinese advertisments into English for market research purposes, but she's not a technical person (I am). Chinese and Singaporean advertising standards are, to put it mildly, laxer than European and American ones. So she'll translate something literally, ask me what it means, and I'll say "that's male bovine excrement" (or something shorter meaning something similar).

Cosmetics using nanotechnology anyone? Some of this stuff stops aging apparently - why can't we get it in west   Anyway, there are no disclaimers, which makes her job easier.

Somehow, I find that all rather disappointing. The world just seems less fun.

A friend of mine coined the, "Just Too Cool Rule". There are a great many things that don't happen in our Universe, simply because theyd be too cool. Actually getting superpowers from a bug bite, having aliens land in your back yard, being discovered while walking down the street and given your own hit TV show... all things that don't happen because they'd just be too cool. :(

Unfortunately, if you think about it there is also an "undeserving rule?" As in, alot of cool things occur to those who are truly undiserving of them. For instance, look how many huge lottery jackports were won by people who: A) Knew nothing about money management B) Threw away the money needlessly?

Theres also a "messed up stipulation" rule as in something cool happens to someone but it has a bad stipulation attached which end up which ends up costing the person alot over the longrun.

My GF and I went and visited her folks this weekend. At one rest stop, there were two pinball machines, each with a warning label that said "For amusement only."

I'm still trying to figure out what the hell else we could have used them for.

The signs are likely a relic of pinball machines' history.

Once upon a time, they were gambling devices (you could win a "free game", which would then be cashed in for money). There are still places that have laws on the books banning pinball machines, for that reason.
