Seems pretty weak - maybe make it encounter (compare to Bastion of Health, which has more range and heals more, or the new Warlord 6 power that lets you spend 2 healing surges) or make it more impressive, as a daily.

What about something like this:

Suck it up, Princess!
Warlord Utility 6

and gets them back on their feet and ready for battle!
Daily • Martial, Healing
Immediate Reaction
Ranged 5
Trigger: An attack knocks one of your visible allies down to 0 Hit Points or below
Effect: The target ally may immediately spend a Healing Surge as a Free Action and gains hit points equal to their Healing Surge Value. They do not fall unconscious, nor do they fall prone. If the targeted ally does not have a Healing Surge available, they are healed to 1 hit point.

Yep, that seems fine at first glance - it's more restrictive trigger than Inspiring Reaction at the same level, and heals less, but has range and triggers in an important situation.

You should probably just make it an Immediate Interrupt and take out the unconscious / fall prone part (what if the attack that dropped to 0 also knocks prone), and immediate reactions are after an action finishes entirely, though you'd lose the 'to 1 hp'... but it would be way easier from a rules standpoint. If not, make it a Free action instead of an immediate, I'd say.

Also you have a contradiction in "Ranged 5" vs. "line of sight". You can write "Ranged sight" -- I've seen it in monster power blocks.
Most powers like this are actually bursts, with the target an ally in the burst. See the "Inspiring Word" class feature.

Nice snark. You get XP for creating a mechanic that makes a character sound like a frustrated gym teacher. Will you have other powers call characters names like "nancy boy" or "sissy" while you're at it?
Actually, it's more reflective of an army drill sergeant, which many people see the warlord class as being somewhat similar to. It's a common enough trope. And yes, frustrated gym teacher is a variant on the theme.

The power name isn't meant to actually insult anyone - it's finding humor in the idea that this leader can use insults (directed at fictional characters) to inspire, in the manner common to the steroetype. It's funny. Trust us.

Yes, because everything is about you. The entire universe revolves around you. It couldn't POSSIBLY have anything to do with the fact that I found it hilarious and decided it needed to be done. Nope, not one iota. It's all about you.

Seriously, you need to get over it.

So this would be balanced you reckon?

Still don't really see a problem with my version. This version you'd be debating whether or not to use it. Do you use it when the rogue goes down or save it for if the fighter goes down later on?

My version you're getting someone up from prone and ready to go on their turn, after the fact of them being knocked down so you can have a more informed decision as to when you'll use it.

Having said that, it was like 4am in the morning when I wrote this and I only did it for fun as a spur of the moment thing. And after three hours sleep, I'm not really in an analytical mindset :)

If you don't have anything to add to the thread, please don't. Thanks.

I like the "minor action" version of the power just because of the proactive vs reactive nature of the decision point, although it's really just an "Inspiring Word" that removes the prone condition at that point, isn't it?
