I saw it today and was certainly impressed by it. From the start the use of John WIlliam's theme on the big screen stirred something deep within.

I know films are a bit different in terms of continuity but wasn't Krypto Superman's pet and Supergirl owned Streaky?

particularly when they're trying to categorise comic book trends like its serious literary critique.
Don't spend much time in comics fandom? There are lots of books on comics as literature, including programs and collections at good universities.

And me saying that the wiki entry author is using "defines" incorrectly isn't nerd rage. It's just knowing English at a middle school level.

I haven't read it but Krypto shows up in the comic book run of "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" which the new Supergirl movie is based on. Guess Gunn thinks it'll be easier to have Krypto attached to Kara.

Honestly, having all of the latter-day Kryptonian tagalongs like Krypto and Streaky and Comet be associated with Supergirl makes more sense than them all getting into separate rockets or something.

Krypto was used by Jor-el to test the prototype rocket before he sent baby Kal.
Kryptos rocket got knocked off course and wound up on earth 10 years after Kal did.

DC told us he was baby Kals pet, which I suppose avoided issues of Jor-Els animal experimentation

I know that was the Silver Age origin, but I don't recall that being mentioned in the movie. (I suspect, like DADHAT, a lot of questions about the movie will be resolved once it's available to rewatch at home with captioning and deleted scenes.)
