Surreal D&D Moments for Unwilling Innocent Bystanders...

When I was in college, we had a Top Secret campaign running. One player had created a character named Leroy, who was somewhat psychopathic and prone to unnecessary bloodshed and property damage. Actually, the whole campaign was prone to unnecessary bloodshed and property damage. But Leroy so much so that he and his flamethrower stood out. At the same time, a local theatre had a deal on midnight movies, on Friday and Saturday nights, for one dollar. They went through the James Bond series for a couple of months, and toward the end of the Connery run (either "Diamonds Are Forever" or "You Only Live Twice", I think) there's a short appearance by a fellow with a flamethrower, who fit all the rest of the description of our campaign's infamous troublemaker. We all yelled out "Leroy!" in our amazement.

One summer not too long ago, but long enough that I don't remember the exact details, we were playing a game at a friend's apartment. He had the door open to keep the air flowing to cool it down and the table we were playing at was right next to the door. I think we were playing DnD, but it could have been Shadowrun. At some point the door opened slightly more and a woman poked her head in.

She said, "You've all heard about Jesus, right?"

i work for the feds. believe me when i tell you... some of them still have no clue.

I think this is the first time I've heard someone who works for the feds call them "the feds". I'm sure it happens a lot, this is just the first time I've actually heard/seen it. I'm amused.
