[Survivor] 3/4/04 - Weak Sauce! (Spoilers, if you can them that)

I hope Richard does get sued. He had no right to do what he did, he had no right to put people in the situation he did. That and I just found him so annoying. He may be comfortabble being nude, but that does not mean the others have to put up with it. I personally would have tried to beat the crap out of him, getting kicked out would be worth it.

I myself was hoping to the very comedic - slip *groan* - on the balance beam there in the center. Ah, the Goonies - so many good things about it.

:D

Actually, Susan Hawk has already hurt him where it will do the most harm. He had managed to parley his 15-minutes-of-fame from Survivor I into a well paying multi-year motivational speaking gig. But the bookings had dropped off as of late, and he saw this Survivor All-Starts as a chance to reenergize those. He was never in this game to win it, only to remarket himself to the TV audience.

That was the reason behind his always positive discussions to the camera as well as the "I can do anything and survive anything" attitude (starve, fight sharks, feel comfortable in any situation). From day one he also kept refering himself as being a "big target" to rationalize why he got vote whenever that happened and still make it look like he came out a winner. So by her now casting him as a sexual preditor with no regard for others she's put a negative connotation on him that will make people reluctant to now hire him.

To me and my wife, however, she didn't cast him as a sexual predator; she came off casting herself as whiny, ESPECIALLY in the light of the way it seemed to go down at the challenge itself.

Richard Hatch appears to be a jerk, plain and simple, but she came off as not "surviving" at ALL. I wouldn't be surprised if she DID do it to make a lawsuit look more attractive - a Multi-million dollar lawsuit with CBS holds more promise than eating bugs and fish for $1 million, anyway.

But then, that's my and my wife's opinion. We're kinda glad she left, now.

Yeah, seemed like posturing and that was one of the reasons the episode wasn't that entertaining. I remember watching and the "adult themes" warning popped up before the challenge at the commercial break and kept watching for something that was really bad. Wasn't until the next break that I realized it was The Brush. Didn't seem like a big deal then and still doesn't now. I know I'm not in her shoes but that's the way I saw it.

Sue is a crude woman (see the christening scene) and should be the last one to worry about others being rude. I think by signing up for All Stars, knowing there was a possibility Hatch could be there, everyone knew going in that there would be nakedness and there was a chance in the challenges that there may be some close contact. All part of the game.
