To be fair that is comics... I know zero people who actually read those. I hear the books did ok though. Granted that was from hearsay

ITs the steampunk thing I thought. When I first heard of Eberron I thought it would be crap but my mate bought it and it turned out better than expected. Not really my thing but its not my least favorite D&D world and it would fall somewhere in the middle for me.

Paizo would not say what world did not sell as well when they ran themed isssues but they confirmed it was not FR or Greyhawk and it was a trend over more than 1 issue so that rules out the Darksun issue they did. Eberron is a bit newer though and I suspect a lot of thee D&D fanbase under the age of 30 (35 even) would not know much about the TSR settings so I suspect Eberron would be a bit more popular than it would be due to a lack of competition (FR vs Eberron sort of thing) as more people would be familiar with it love or hate sort of thing .

It's a shame there's not a D20 Modern/Future type of option.

Remember that in survivor threads, tall trees tend to get chopped down.* I am quite sure that, for example, Eberron, Forgotten Realms, and Greyhawk are more universally liked than, say, Council of Wyrms. But that's how the survivor threads roll.

Make sure you cast your upvotes for the settings you love!

*Which is to say, things that provoke strong emotions.

Exactly, which means that the winner is definitely going to be Mahasapa, due to the "Mahasapa, WTF?" factor.
