Survivor: Guatemala

I believe there were one or two folks in there (from reading their bios and a preview show) that had some experience in the wilderness. But yeah, that was a rough challenge. Really fun to watch, tho.

Speaking of wilderness experience- did anyone else wonder wtf was going on when the guy (can't think of his name) who was billed as "wilderness guide" didn't step up and help out when the team couldn't figure out how to work the compass? There was a confessional where he mentioned that the leaders are the ones who get voted off first, but c'mon! If someone later finds out that he might have been able to help make that 11 mile hike easier, he's toast!

I like that they are started to try to make each season a little different, so I don't mind using Steph and Bobby John. Like in All Stars, the more experienced players have a target to start with, so they will have to play the right angles to stay around for very long.

Jim's injury sounded pretty serious to me too. Seemed like him being the first to go was a foregone conclusion. I bet everyone else knew it too, but they edited it so there would be some suspense (but not much).

Anyone have a link to background info on the QB? Guess I'm being lazy, and if I get interested enough I'll just google him. Back then I was a lowly Falcons fan, so I did not follow the NFL much.

It came down to this though:

Steph - "Yay, this team is my b***h!"

Bobby Jo - "Oh look! Yesterdays lunch!"

Steph is light years ahead of Bobby Jo, who won't be around much longer. Then they will focus more on whoever gets canned next.

I dunno: I think BJ has a much better chance than Stephanie. She has a HUGE target on her back, whereas his "naivete" (read: dumbness) may actually work in his favor.

They may be pissed or maybe it won't come out at all. He'd have to tell them, either way.

Yes, different is good. :)

Any time there is a "pop" noise coming from inside the body, that is never good. Especially when you are older, like Jim.

Either BJ is a very terrific actor or.... :p

I don't think it will be long before the rest of the players target Steph and BJ. If I was a contestant, I'd be saying "Ok, you got your shot last season, it's our turn now." and be looking to vote them off quickly.

My wife and I really liked Steph last year, and I picked her for my Survivor draft, but did anybody else find her coming off a little "less then nice" IYKWIM? I found her to be a tad arrogant and impatient this episode.

This is why I don't understand how people could have liked her to begin with. She isn't just a tad arrogant and impatient she is a lot arrogant and impatient in this one and the last. She is snide, gloaty and arrogant when she is on the winning team (which of course is because of her) but she is a complaining crybaby when she is on the losing team and it is always somebody else's fault that they lost (of course if they had just listened to her they would have won.)

In my opinion she is the main reason her tribe imploded last time, she is definately not a team player and the only reason she made it as far as she did was by convincing Bobby Joe not to vote her out ( and really how hard would that have been?)

Steph's team got lucky at the immunity challenge and they won, (which I am sure she will take full credit for) and as long as everyone's attention is on her she will be happy but sooner or later she is going to lose that 'Isn't she great' aura and then the fur will fly.
