Survivor: Guatemala

I am done with survivor. It was neat in the begining but it basically goes the same all the time.

1 team will always get immunity.
Tribal Merge, vote off every one from the other team.
1 person always wins immunity.
Then it goes down to 1 guy and 1 girl who get along real well and they hope each other win.

Repeat

There shouldn't be teams. It should be okay here are a bunch of people, the stuff is here, go for it. And then individual immunity challenges from the begining

There has to be some kind of structure. The reasons you named are the reasons why it is popular. It's a game, like Monopoly only much harder. The game goes basically the same every time - you roll the dice, buy properly, build on it and then hope people land on it. But, every game is different and has its own feel to it. And yes, some games (seasons) are better than others.

But if you are sick of it, that's cool. I'm just giving a view from the other side. :)

My wife and I really liked Steph last year, and I picked her for my Survivor draft, but did anybody else find her coming off a little "less then nice" IYKWIM? I found her to be a tad arrogant and impatient this episode.
I guess she's got that "I'm a Survivor veteran" air about her.

But I agree with Rel, though I prefer that double-D church girl. ;)

I enjoyed it.

I'm new to Survivor - I hadn't seen a single episode until they started airing them on the outdoor network. Now I've seen the first 3 seasons, and I'm hooked.

I loooove the location this season ... can you imagine making camp in those ruins? Man, I would just be in awe.

I'm not too happy with the addition of Stephanie and Bobby Joe. I like to see the people flail around at the beginning, when they have no idea what to do or how to do it. And those two just ... I don't know. I'm not diggin' it.

Mimic said, when speaking of Steph:
In my opinion she is the main reason her tribe imploded last time, she is definately not a team player and the only reason she made it as far as she did was by convincing Bobby Joe not to vote her out ( and really how hard would that have been?)

While I agree with part of what your saying, I don't agree with this statement. She worked her butt off in every competition last season. Emberassing most of the guys on her team. Speaking of her team, that was the biggest bunch of wimpy, abs of steel guys I've ever seen. Her team was brutal.

I wish I had abs like those, but being in that sort of shape has not been a predictor of physical success in past seasons of Survivor. EVERYBODY loses weight and if there is no fat on you then that weight comes straight from muscle mass. Those guys have no fat reserves at all. And unlike past seasons where they had to (at worst) paddle a canoe to the beach for a couple hours, the grueling hike through the jungle took all they had and more. They were barely hanging on through the challenges.

Contrast that with the women who have no choice but to store a little extra fat (though not much in a couple notable cases). They fared relatively well after the hike. As was commented on during the TC, the ladies have the endurance while the men have the strength. Unfortunately, your strength doesn't show very well when you're passed out from dehydration.

If fat reserves equal success in Survivor. I'd be the freaking champ! :D
