Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

Im really enjoying this. Especially the fact that they have done tension right. I feel like I am watching and Indiana Jones or Goonies movie in that regard.

In the current episode I love that Jod "quoted" both Qui Gon and Indiana Jones. And that the trap was coin operated.

Well, we now have a name for our "Captain Flint", but not a face. We where reminded of the headless statue in "previously on".

Talking about hints, the Banking Clan was mentioned in this episode. If the Great Work was to establish some kind of Galactic Central Bank, then they would be top of the list of organisations wanting to destroy it.

So, if At Attin was supposed to be a galactic mint, was it only supposed to stay secret until it established itself as such, or was it meant to continue staying hidden? Because I find it a little harder to believe that a planet can stay hidden when there are regular shipments of a galaxy's worth of currency coming out of it. That's got to be something that could be traced back to the source.

It appears to me that it was already operating as a mint, there are enough old republic credits in circulation that they are quickly recognised, and there is talk of official Republic ships being allowed through the barrier. And it’s secrecy was compromised.

I kind-of assumed it was set up to supplement or replace whatever minting facilities were already in place, not that it was the first and only mint for Republic credits. I guess we'll see.

There is no way that the settlement on At-Attin is thousands of years old. You could not keep population growth in check for that long.

I do not think it would be explicitly connected to Darth Plagueis, but Plagueis was a Muun, and the Muun ran the Intergalactic Banking Clan. I thought I heard the Banking Clan mentioned in the show.

For an episode or two I thought Jod might be what happens when a talented Force sensitive is found too late and not trained. But his stuff about forgetting attachments sounds way too Jedi for him not to have been trained by them. And the whole confrontation between him and the "We're just kids!" crew seems like it is supposed to directly evoke the murder of the younglings.

The show is a bit slow. I am enjoying it, but I am worried that my Dad is just enduring it for me.

If all nine of these hidden planets were built to look the same, then likely each of them was a mint. The US has 12 Federal Reserve locations to print and mint money, so why would a Galactic Republic have only one location for all their minting?

As a side note: when Obi-Wan said that Luke would never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy was he saying that Mos Eisley was the most wretched hive of scum and villainy in the galaxy or was he merely forseeing that Luke would never visit any of the potentially even worse places like Port Borgo?
