SW starting creds for above 1st lv characters..?

First Post
Ok I just got the revised core rulebook,it is the only SW book I have.I am about to run a SW campaign and I was wondering how many creds a 6th lv character would start out with.Actually knowing the scale if their is one would be awesome, but I can settle for 6th. I know their is probably a chart in one of the other SW books, but I just bought CotSQ and The SWCR in the same week, so I am probably not going to be able to get anything for a while.

Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S. It would also be helpful if someone could refer me to which book has this info if any,so that I can make this my next target book to buy.

As far as I know, there was never a table in the core rulebook, and since their is no "Starwars Gamemaster Manual" or "Starwars Core Rulebook II", I think you might never find such a list.

Suggestion 1:
Maybe simply use the charts from the Dungeons Master Guide in a 1:1 ratio. If you think this is not enough (looking at the "non revised" book, 13.000 won`t give a Soldier a decent heavy armor), double the numbers.

He will be able to buy his heavy armor, some good weapons, and some other equipment.

A Scoundrel could buy Sensor Packages, Datapads, Electro binoculars, and than wonder what to do with the rest (maybe buy a droid?)

I would suggest not to make the ship part of the "treasure" they own - just give them one, if they need it for your adventures (probably, they will), but see also the other threads here ...

Thanks, that helps out some.I never thought to use the table from the dmg,I guess it was because starting creds threw me.A first lvl scoundrel gets 3k creds if he rolls a 6.I think doubling it will be a good idea.

Another question,I am making a 6th lvl npc for my two person party and he is a military pilot....belongs to a x-wing squadron...would he get less creds because he is on a military stipend? He is a 3lv scoundrel,3 lv soldier.

Also doesn't the arms and equipment(I think that is what it is called)guide detail a chart for creds after 1st lv?

How about the star wars galactic campaign guide, is that going to have this info?

I'd advise against using the DMG numbers in a 1:1 ratio. It breaks down enormously at higher levels - a single mid-level PC can easily afford a starship and a crew of droids to fly it. Higher-level guys will all be grotesquely wealthy.

What I'm doing in my campaign (starting at level 7) is just playing it casual - requiring my players to write up a good character background, then deciding in cooperation with them what equipment the background justifies. Works well if you and your players are on the same wavelength.

The Arms & Eqipment guide doesn't have any info on starting creds for higher level characters. I'm pretty sure that this sort of stuff will be in the galactic campaign guide. But Moridin would know better than me.

Thanks,I wasn't really going to use it in a 1:1 ratio,I will make some modifications according to high end items.I am running a oneshot and only have two players so they will need a npc party member just to balance it out.My idea is for a squadron similar to wraith squadron, they will fight a couple major space battles and participate in some traditional combat while on a insertion mission to another planet. So one guy is going to play a jedi, the other is going to play a noble, and to balance things out will be this third npc who is good at the things they are not, like demolitions ...etc..

Would you have any suggestions on which next d20 SW sourcebook would be the best to have,I only have the revised core and would like to know some peoples opinions on the rest of the collection in terms of game support . Thanks

The Hero's Guide, due out in June, will have the table you're looking for. I wish I could post it here, but WotC doesn't really allow me to give sneak peeks even of a product I wrote.

However, I might also suggest you consider the possibility of just giving them starting credits and letting them go from there. Star Wars isn't D&D, so there's no magic items to buy, and it's reasonable for a level 6 character to have only basic equipment.

Thanks for the ideas, that could work too, because their x-wings will be from the republic anyways.

Will the galactic campaign guide be all the things that the corebook is missing?I haven't really heard anything about it.

Oh yeah here is my e-mail if you have any future release dates for sw products IF you would be kind enough,I realize you are a busy guy of course.

If it helps any, I'd suggest trying to save for any and all of the next SW products that come down the pike. I'll be getting the Ultimate Alien Anthology, the Hero's Guide (and it better come fast, Rodney! :D), and the Galactic Campaign Guide.

As far as your ? is concerned, you can have them roll starting gold as per RCRB, and then give them a big wad of credits based on the mission (like, say, half up front, if it's mercenary) to spend collectively on things like equipment, etc. Like others have pointed out to me on my SW threads, there are plenty of ways to get PCs the resources they need (and plenty of adventure hooks built therein).

Good Luck - hope your one-shot goes well, and I wish I could gather up some people to play in one myself...

I just followed your link to wizards and answered my own question.

Link to Wizards? Do you mean to SWRPGNetwork?

I'll be getting the Ultimate Alien Anthology, the Hero's Guide (and it better come fast, Rodney! ), and the Galactic Campaign Guide.

June is all I've heard, man. I wish I could magically make it come out sooner (believe me!) but it's out of my hands.
