Yes, if you have the original CC Digital, the Silver Edition 2005 brings you up to speed. The contents of both CDs is what you get in CC Digital Gold Edition 2005.

And let me take this opportunity to say, Claudio, that I love these disks! I just printed 100 dire rats last night. Hoo boy, is it going to suck to be my players today. :]

The cool thing is, since the images are in jpg format, you can resize them or drop them into a character sheet. Oh yes, the CC digital disks make me a very happy girl.

I had dinner with Fiery Jason last night (FDP's President), and he said it was gorgeous. I'm so in.

Sigh. I'm waffling about this one. I've preordered the book, but we game at my dining room table and I'm hardly going to hang a vinyl map on the wall in there, so what would I do with it? (I can't believe I'm saying that. Must be developing a practical bent in my old age.)

Well, I've already spent my gaming budget for the month (except for Damnation Decade) so if there are still any left in July, I'll think about it then.

Well, Buttercup, it's *vinyl*, so you could use it as a waterproof tablecloth... ;)

And thanks, btw. I think there's going to be a new update sometime soon, collecting the counters I did over the past year. But, as usual, FDP Jason knows more about this (and most things) than me.

Monte has better marketing then WotC! New age is coming.

Got to agree with you on this one. There are Ptolus products popping up from a whole host of publishers which is great to see.

Looks sweet, but it is pretty pricey. I am already shelling out $120 for the book. I bought the cheaper pdf maps from skeleton key. I might get them printed out and lamenated at Kinko's. Should cost less.

Think again. Printing posters is $10 per sq ft, at least at the local Kinko's (and my experience is that prices nation-wide are very similar, with the local one being, if anything, cheaper than many other places i've been), which means $240 to print that out at Kinko's yourself. Laminating is similarly spendy (though i don't remember the exact price). Printing on foamcore tends to be around $15/sq ft.

I originally thought it was pricy, until I re-read this, BIG PTOLUS VINYL MAP. This thing is almost 6 feet wide and 4 feet high. That is much bigger than my vinyl battlemat and I paid over $30 for that one, at a discount... The battlemat only has one color, this seems to be full color.

Found out a fascinating thing a year or so ago: Kinko's charges the same price for printing on vinyl as for printing on paper. AFAIK, that's unusual in the print-services world in general, but it does point to the price of vinyl having come down considerably (plus, paper prices have risen a lot in the last couple decades). So the fact that it's vinyl doesn't necessarily make it a more-expensive-to-produce option, even if it does represent a better value.

Just got an email saying that they'll be shipping it in about 4 weeks. Should arrive a couple of weeks before the Ptome itself, which gives me enough time to build an extension to the house so that I have a free wall to hang it on...

Just ordered mine and I've got a huge section just behind my chair in the gaming room to hang it on. Can't wait to see what it looks like hanging there.

I'm one of the few, the proud, the Larger Ptolus Vinyl Map owners!
