At a curse, and anger your players.
But who cares, if it is within the usual treasure limit. Just throw some constructs, elementals and undead at them, if you fear it is to powerful. Or Fighters with Full Plate +1 of heavy fortification, or Wizards with Blur, other high level rogues, characters with cloak of displacement. The usual stuff.

Anyway, it is a good weapon, though it allows other ones to identify a rogue quickly (look at the description of the Sword).

I'm inclined to agree - bear in mind that it means you don't beat DR X/+2 with it.

The price of a +4 shortsword is 16,310. The price of the Sword of Subtlety is 15,310. 1000gp off, for -3 attack and damage on every roll that isn't a sneak attack doesn't sound right.

So use your GMW'd +5 Sword of Subtlety for +9/+9 on your sneak attacks, and have fun...
