SWSE and Hot Pursuit

So I'm planning on dropping the chase rules from Adamant's 'Hot Pursuit' into an upcoming Saga game, and it looks like a pretty straightforward port. Some of the DC's may be a touch easier for the players to reach, as I believe trained skill 'ranks' in Saga would be higher on average than a D20 character of a similar level, but what the hell, it's Star Wars. Jumping from one speeder to the next is something everyone got to practice at Beggar's Canyon back home.

Anyone else done this, and anything I should worry about?

You should worry about having too much fun.

Actually, I think you're good to go. :D

I'm working on exactly this port myself, actually. For the most part it looks like you can run it almost straight out of the book. You'll need to come up with different numbers for the various speed categories (since speeders go so much faster than most of the vehicles presented), and I'd recommend ditching the "Damage to Vehicles" section of Hot Pursuit and sticking with the Condition Track. Finally, I'd use Acrobatics instead of Jump for the "Leap Aboard" and "Leap Clear" maneuvers (or possibly the player's choice of which to use).

Remember to change all the "-4" modifiers in Hot Pursuit to "-5" for SWSE and port over all those little rules for SWSE vehicle combat, such as a trained pilot getting +2 with the "pilot's guns" (for speeder-mounted blasters).

Also remember that lightsabers ignore DR when carving up speeder bikes! ;)
