SX:2 The Antiques Roadshow (Keia judging)-Completed

The party continues to go on. As it gets later and darker, the heroes notice that the jet setters begin to loosen up. Tara is sitting with a group of near comatose friends at a table near the pool. She can be overheard slurring, "Mean people suck, why can't they be nice?"

Inside the room with the tablet, J-pappy walks in, picks up the tablet, turns to Paladin and Sergeant, and says,"stay here." Before he walks out the door, he appears to change back to the form of Relic. Against their will, the heroes feel a strange compulsion to do as they're told.

Outside a murmur breaks through the crowd. Panic begins to break out as the guests run towards Psyren and Avatar.

OOC: Thought we'd move forward with the action. Paladin and sergeant are mind-controlled. Sergeant has a HP to use if he wishes. Pyren and Avatar have yet to see the cause of the panic.

Sergeant try to follow J-Pappy, wanting to know what he is doing, but cannot follow him, something tell him to stay here, but... He takes his commlink "J-Pappy have entered the room, taken the tablet and left. We have been mind-control to stay in the room, I cannot leave it, Psyren, Avatar, hurry up in here, the sorcerer is here!"

[SBLOCK=OOC]Extra Effort: Willpower, so I can get another save against that mind control. On the roll, I'll use a HP to re-roll if the total of teh roll is under 20. Next round, I'll use an HP (so I might spend two) to ignore the fatigue and I'll start to run after J-Pappy drawing my pistol charge with rubber bullets.

I am presently at 7 HP, so there shouldn't be a problem with that. (5 from the start, happy Luck feat, +2 at the mansion, +1 here, -1 in the fight against the zombies to unstun).[/SBLOCK]

After taking a break from the dance floor out in the pool area, Psyren and Avatar are approached by Harry paulson. Psyren knows Paulson as a producer of slick summer action movies. 'Psyren, you're looking great baby. Let me run this by you. We do a movie where we start off telling your life story and than take it from there with this UN stuff. lots of action, Special effects, we'll sell a lot of popcorn. You'll be the star, I got Ed Burns lined up to play the knight, Peter Dinklage for the little guy, and Elisha Cuthbert to play Pandora. Think about it. I'll call your old agent and give him the details.",Paulson says in full smooze.
"Any such project I must run by UN. It sounds interesting though, no? Still, I can not accept till I speak with friends in Resolutes."

"This must mean there's a fire or something...like Relic", mused Dr. Johnson. He took advantage of the confusion to duck behind a piece of furniture and Quick Change into Avatar, stuffing the tux into a fanny pack on his belt in case he needed to become Henry again. "Paladin, Sergeant, we have a situation in the Great Room", he called into his commlink. "Report!" Turing to Monique, he suggested, "Let's go see what's causing this disturbance." "Sorry, UN business", he explained to one of the guests who was startled to see a costumed Resolute appear from seemingly nowhere. Avatar started to move against the flow of the crowd to see what the matter was. His hand was on his pistol, but he kept it holstered well out of sight. "No need to panic the nice celebrities any further", he thought.

"Rogers! But we have one too, and the tablets are leaving the place!" correct Sergeant, trying to get rid of this mental block.

OOC: Doesn't Paladin still have his starting 5 HP's also? If so, he will also spend one to redo his save. Also, if this paralyzation is a mental effect, his Mind Shield power should add +6 to his save for a total Will save of +9.

"Rrrrrrr..." Paladin's eyes go cold as he realizes he's just been fooled by the very being he was supposed to be guarding against. His lips curl in disgust and his right hand reflexively clenches as if trying to grab something...

OOC:Look for an update tomorrow. Long day at work today (all outside so it was a pretty good one). There will probably be a retcon based on use of hero points. I'll post the new results in a brand spankin' new post, and edit the old one.

Relic turns and speaks his command, his disguise falling away to show his true nature. Paladin and Avatar feel a poowerful presence in their mind, forcing them to submit. Sergeant is unable to overcome the urge, but Paladin finds an extra well of reserve. Can his magic armor be protecting him from the evil mage's spell? He shrugs off the effect.

OOC: Let's get Paladin's action and take care of this round, and then I'll take care of the action outside in the pool area with Psyren and Avatar
