SX:2 The Antiques Roadshow (Keia judging)-Completed

"If we act like we belong, then it be rude to ask such a thing," Psyren says. "So, this is formal party? J Pappy usually very casual. Oh well." She looks at the dress, "This will do I guess."

"Pardon me, but I'm afraid I cannot remove my arms or armor." Paladin interjects with a nervous stammer. For the first time since meeting him, you seem to see what may be a trace of fear in his eyes.

Avatar clapped Paladin on the shoulder. "Don't worry about it. Wheeler can fix you up with something to wear over it, and you can just wait in the car like she said. It'll be ok." Turning to his handler, Avatar became more apologetic. "Hey, uh, thanks for the disguise but I'm not sure I'm very good with that. I think I'll just go as Henry Johnson, thanks. If something happens, I'll just duck behind a plant or something and change into my speed suit." More confidently, he continued, "It's allright, I can handle it."[sblock=Crunch]Avatar wants to see if Wheeler can help out with the Paladin-as-a-bodyguard-watching-the-car idea. He'll go as himself, probably scandalizing the ivory tower set to be seen dating a pop star, but that's nothing new to him. And, he has no ranks in disguise, but he does have Quick Change I, so...[/sblock]

"In the car!? But what if this thief appears? I cannot just sit idly by while... while others face the dangers of the battle...not again." The fire in Paladin's eyes flares quickly back to life as he questions Avatar. But it also quickly fades to embers as he seems to see not the teammates before him, but some other place or time. Psyren picks up images of a large circular table sitting empty in a massive stone room. Some of the chairs hold markers showing the passing of the person who had sat there, once upon a time...

Avatar shrugged. "If something happens, we'll call and you can come running. Nobody will care if a big guy in armor comes running into the party if this Relic fella is there breaking things and hurting people. And if nothing happens, you won't miss any fight."

The resolutes have a meeting with Butterworth. He shows them J Pappy's "art room" and explains that Paladin can stay there and keep an eye on the tablet. 'The rest of you keep discreet and out of the way. Mr. Mason is conducting business at this party. He never stops working.", Butterworth says, an obvious tone of respect enters his voice.

OOC:I might be pretty busy the next few days (had another fire, that might spread to us). I'd like to try something a little different and give the players a chance to RP out some encounters with the guests without myself neccesarily taking part. Guests on the list include: Ron Howard, Tara Reid (hammered), Tom Hanks, the afore-mentioned Peter Dinklage (j pappy was in his broadway production of Richard the III), Rene Zellweger,Dave Chapelle, and several Lakers, including Kobe. Add anyone you're interested in dealing with. There is a traditional red carpet with papparazi, Joan Rivers, and the E network. HAve fun with it, or you can always wait.

Avatar ran down the guest list, but saw few names that interested him. "Ron Howard, he might be worth talking to, Tom Hanks, yep, Rene Zellweger...well, not much I can do there since I'm supposed to be Psyren's date." The rest he pretty much dismissed as not really being his type. He decided that he'd definitely not try to "be seen", at least not in Hollywood terms, but would be content to simply play the role of Psyren's obscure new love interest...something like that newspaper editor that Sharon Stone ended up marrying.

Sergeant puts some sunglasses with his tuxedo. "It is always better than the jumpsuit we call uniform." Once the group arrive at the party, Sergeant always stay near Psyren, looking at everyone who is there. After a moment, he think it would be a good idea to eclipse himself and try to explore the building and try to find where the artifact is.

"My thanks to you, Sir Butterworth. Thou hast soothed my fears by granting me the honour of guarding this place." Paladin says with a polite nod of the head as Butterworth leaves.

Paladin stands guard in the Art room, most happy to be closer than the car outside. Using his comlink, he asks the others to give him some details of the areas of the house away from where he is. Between that and what he saw on his way to the art room, Paladin starts running through possible strategies in case of attack. While his mind plots tactics, his eyes wander to the tablet which they have come to guard. But only momentarily as he soon turns back to watch the entrance(s) to the room.

[sblock=OOC: ]Paladin starts formulating a Master Plan per his feat, just in case they run into trouble.[/sblock]

Psyren guides "Henry" down the runway, 'Always try to look happy or thoughtful. A foul mood shows.'

Psyren does the required fashion spin and photo shoots that such red carpet events require. She insists that Henry is just a good friend and not a long time behind the scenes romance durring the brief interviews and gives him the occasional kiss on the cheek to 'Make things seem right' , an says she's glad that her UN promos for the Resolutes is the #1 downloaded video on the web. She also refuses to comment on allegations of causing a riot in London. She also denies her UN stint is simply a PR stunt.
