Paladin takes a mighty swing with Excalibur. As he is about to disable the zombie it dissappears. Looking around he sees that the other one has dematerialized also. His three comrades enter the room, guns drawn.

Seeing Paladin alone in the room, Avatar's frustration mounted. "Paladin, what happened?", he asked. "Is is true, did he steal the tablet?"

Avatar followed Psyren to the nearest door, half expecting to run into J Pappy along the way. He stood by while Psyren made her reconnaisance flight, and called headquarters to make a report of the latest unfortunate development.

Sergeant finds nothing but both handcuffs where the body was.

J-Pappy walks up to the heroes and thanks them for helping out, but follows up with, "You need to get my art back. Noone messes with J-pappy." Avatar has a sneaking suspicion he is enjoying the free publicity.

When he calls Wheeler, he gets the following response, " We'll send the limo to pick you up. We're heading to headquarters until we can figure out where the last piece is"

After searching around the Resolutes don't find any more clues. The car arrives, Dick flies them back to New Jersey. They are told to head to their rooms on the compound to get some sleep, and that they'll be contacted when another lead presents itself.

Paladin explains what happened as they are driven away. "The vile thief walked right up to me and laid his hands on the object. He was disguised as the owner, that "J Pappy" whose festival we were in attendance of. By the time he revealed himself, he already had it in his possession. He attempted to freeze me in place but was unable to control me. As I attacked him his summoned revenants appeared to distract and battle me. Then he flew away, making his escape while the undead kept me unable to follow.

"I am ashamed to admit my failure. But I swear on my blade that he this injustice shall not stand. Somehow, some way, I shall find this thieving wizard and put a stop to his villainous plans."
