Midias follows Pendrake.[sblock=Peladus]Alone, Peladus enters the alleyway, passing between two wooden storage sheds with sides of rough overlapped planking. Ahead, he sees two stacks of similar planks laid carefully within trestles.
As he reaches the far end of the alley, he sees that it opens up into a hidden yard that seems to be the repository of whatever old junk the users of Spelding Square no longer want. The east is clear. To the west, there are lying several rotting hairy coils of rope, a shattered chair, and a great loose pile of wood. Near this, and just beyond the shed's closed door, a ladder leans against the wall.
There is no sign of any creature.
OOG: it took 45 ft to move to this position. Peladus has another 15 ft of move available, if you wish (a diagonal will cost 10).[sblock=Map]
[/sblock][/sblock][sblock=Midias]Ngikhnit emerges from behind a market stall, cutting across toward the pair fighting their unseen foe.
Something slaps Quozen hard, but still Midias is unable to see what delivered the blow. A second strike sends the elf tumbling to the cobbles, unconscious.
And now Pendrake is buffeted, but this time - as though Midias has cleared his vision - the creature can be seen, south of Pendrake, a flailing mass of tentacles.
Gillin turns his attention to the fallen Quozen.[/sblock][sblock=Ngikhnit]Peladus begins mvoing cautiously into the alley. Ngikhnit leaves him to it and heads south across the Square at speed, cutting south-east towards the pair fighting their unseen foe.
Something slaps Quozen hard, but still Ngikhnit is unable to see what delivered the blow. A second strike sends the elf tumbling to the cobbles, unconscious.
And now Pendrake is buffeted, but this time - as though Ngikhnit's eyes have cleared - the creature can be seen, south of Pendrake. While the creature Ngikhnit fought had but a single pair of tentacles emerging from the top of a somewhat shapeless mass, now this other, though severed from it by the blade of a longsword, is nothing but a ball of countless tentacles writhing in all directions, a shape out of nightmares. Shadows stream from it like smoke from burning sticks.
Gillin turns his attention to the fallen Quozen.
OOG: I took the liberty of completing his double move to the SE.[/sblock][sblock=Pendrake]Ngikhnit emerges from behind a market stall, cutting across toward the pair fighting their unseen foe.
Something slaps Quozen hard. Pendrake's vision clears, or the creature returns to visibility, and this time he sees it deliver the bruising, burning tentacle slap that sends the elf tumbling to the cobbles, unconscious.
It turns its attention to the more threatening figure approaching from the north - Pendrake himself. Even as it slides towards him, he loses sight of it once more, for just long enough that he cannot dodge its attack. He feels the sharp sting of acid again, and then the creature is there again, flailing madly. Another strike goes astray.
Gillin turns his attention to the fallen Quozen.
OOG: UT2
hits Pendrake for 3, putting him at 43 HP.[/sblock][sblock=Quozen]Ngikhnit emerges from behind a market stall, cutting across toward the pair fighting their unseen foe.
Something slaps Quozen hard, but still he cannot see what delivered the attack. Another blow strikes him, and then he sees nothing at all.
OOG: UT2 hits for 4, remains unseen, then hits again for another 4, dropping him to -3.[/sblock][sblock=Maps][sblock=Midias]
