Taking away the shame...of Roleplaying!

If asked I tell that I play RPGs, and usually explain what those are ("interactive fairy tales"). I do not usually go out of my way to declare my hobby to strangers, but the people I work with know that I game - I talk about my hobbys just as they talk about theirs. I have not yet met another gamer at work though, not even a computer gamer, which I find strange.

That does seem strange. I would think computer gamers (including Nintendo, Playstation, XBox) would be fairly common. I don't personally play many computer games, but that's mostly because I'm on a Mac (and Macs just don't have that many games to play... especially for my dinosaur Mac).

There is only really one other gamer in my office (and although I've known he was a gamer for years, we only just played together for the first time recently)... but I know there are plenty of others throughout the company. I work for a major newspaper... and we have offices all over the country. I know of a few gamers throughout the organization.

Still... even at the water cooler... it's not something that generally comes up.
