I've been waiting 10 weeks for an order, and I'm frankly getting a little worried. I ordered Castles & Crusades, the first two books, using prepaid store credit. Every month or so, I email him, and he responds to every second or third email.

Is there some crisis going on at his store? Is there some reason he's not getting shipments any more, and some reason he's not responding to emails?

I've been waiting a long, long time, and I'm particularly patient, I think, but this is getting a bit absurd...

Well, the problem is this - you've made the huuuuuuge mistake of actually ordering from this guy. A very long time ago there was a period when he fulfilled orders. I think that period was for like a month or so. Whatever - I was even lucky enough to have ordered something and gotten it. Yeah, I fell for the "he's a fellow poster at ENWorld/NKL, so I have to support him!!!". Fortunately I actually got my stuff -many people have found themselves in your position, I'm afraid.

Just be prepared for a laundry list of excuses. Sick wife, sick shopkeeper, sick dog, sick neighbor, sun-was-in-his-eyes when you ordered, it was all the fault of some big-online-gaming store...

For what it's worth, I feel for you. You were right to bring this to light, though. Maybe now people will wise up about him AND NEVER ORDER A SINGLE SOLITARY ITEM FROM HIM EVER AGAIN!

Isn't he from Texas? Could he have been caught up in the whole evacuation thing?

I've managed to get a LOT of stuff from him, but getting emails from him is like pulling teeth, sometimes...

Unfortunately somewhere along the way ignoring his customers and carping about being a "little guy" in the mean old business world became more important than "customer service".

Although I don't doubt he would use the evacuation as an excuse, even though he probably lives in El Paso.

Denton, TX (just north of Dallas area). Wow, I wonder what happened? I have not been to the store recently, but the last time I was there things looked fine. They even have an RPGA group running at that location.

I would think the Hurricane excuse is why he has not seen anything in week 9 & 10. The Hurricanes will not be a decent excuse for weeks 1-8.

What hurricane excuse? I do not live that far away from the shop. In the Dallas-Fort Worth-Denton areas, we did not get a drop of rain...the storm went well to the east. There are a lot of evacuees here, but no real shortages of water, food, or gas.

Speaking of recovery, five members of my family are prepping to leave this week to help as part of the clean up effort in Texas regions that were hit hard. I don't expect to see them home for months (but hopefully by Christmas).

Maybe you should check with your locak BBB (Better Business Bureau) to see if there's any other complaints about them and also to file one of your own.

I don't think the BBB would work too well for me, given that I live two time zones away.

I just want my last shipment. And I'll keep bugging him until I get it.
