Tapped out...need help

First Post
I have to come up with a character concept for a first level character by tomorrow but I have NO idea what to do...I am running up against a block of some kind and I need help. I am unconcerned with which class to take but rather what type of person to be and the future development of such a character over the course of his adventuring lifetime...anyone want to suggest anything? Thanks!

wasn't there a thread about halfling necromancers..?

seriously, did you want to give any details about the kind of game you'll be in? (setting, tone, other PCS, whatever) that may help a little

You are a fighter (choose race) who was raised by Druids. You foollow the same weapons and armor restriction as your parents (even though you technically don't have to). You can do the same thing with Barbarian or Ranger if you want more wilderness skills.

Here's an idea - randomly roll a magic item on using the DMG tables, then make an acronym out of it!

Flying
Lama-eating
American
Monk

There. Flaming Burst Gauntlet. :) :) :) :) :)

An elvish cleric, out to civilize the less fortunate races.

A Dwarf Barbarian, raced by awakened wolves after his family was slaughtered when he was a kid.

A halfling wizard who wants to discover the secrets of the universe, sorta bookish and reserved, but highly intelligent.

A halfling rogue with engineering skills (think a mini macguyver) who is absolutely honest and trustworthy.

The oafish youngest son of a minor lord, framed for his father's murder and driven into hiding. (Rogue)

A Bard who has discovered he can make a lot of money by "puffing up" your average local fighter and making a "legend" out of him, for a fee up front and a cut of the take, of course.

A dwarven ranger who gave up on adventuring long ago when his only love was killed on an adventure. Though living in the wilds since then, he has only recently contemplated returning to the "civilized" world.

I am pretty sure it will be set in Greyhawk, using WoTC modules as a foundation. Other than that I am in the dark...

Concepts:
Martyr (one of my current characters): basically, the groups rear guard. An extremely defensive character, so plan accordingly.
Assault: Power attack, cleave, basically anything that ups your attack power.
Archer: Simple enough
Blacksmith/creator: Multiclass fighter/mage who focuses on making magic items. Another character I'm currently running.
"Stealth Tank": Fighter/Rogue with Hide and Move Silently maxed out. With the right equipment, a force to be feared.
Hm... Can't seem to think of any more, but trust me, they're out there...

I had a lot of fun playing a human barbarian with PTSD. (Post-traumatic stress disorder). When he encountered a combat situation, he would sometimes rage and sometimes flee---completely unpredictable. Usually after combat he would sob uncontrollably for several minutes. He would often fixate on an hourglass, apparently soothed by watching the sands pour through.
