Tarrasque Killing

I am going to throw my players up againist a tarrasque this evening and while revieiwing it's abilities I ended up having a question about it's Regeneration abilitiy.

It says that "No form of attack deals normal damage to the tarrasque". Just to clarify this doesn't include magic damage correct?

Thanks in advance.

i think this means that no attacks that deals damage (including spells) can bypass the regeneration ability - in other words, all damage dealt is subdual and no attack form can deal normal damage (like acid and fire deals normal damage to a troll)

as per regeration (MM pg 10) all subdual damage is regenerated at a fixed rate (40 pts a round for the tarrasque)

So that would be why there is only one Tarrasque and you can never kill it. Knock it out perhaps but it but by virtue of it never taking anything but subdual you would never be able to kill it. I believe that creature was supposed to be one of the "Constants" of any game it was brought in to. Kind of like the elements... you can protect yourself as best you can but you can never defeat them entirely (a druid may stop one tornado from destroying a town but another will come again someday).

Pretty easy, really. All you need is Gate. And a way to keep out of the T's reach.

Start off by casting Gate. Use it to bring in your HD worth of celestial or fiendish stirges. They're still just 1 HD each.

So now you oughtta have at least 17 stirges ready to do your bidding. If you got another Gate, cast it. The more, the merrier.

Now, send them to attack the Tarrasque!

The monster is big enough they can all EASILY attack it.

So they latch on. Melee touch attacks. The Tarrasque's armor is all natural. It's touch AC is terrible.

It attacks. 1 hit, one kill. No cleave feat. 6 stirges die, die DIE!

The remaining ones...suck. The Tarrasque takes 1d4xstirges in Con damage.

I think you see where this is going now. :)

Con zero. T "dies." Not REALLY, but it hits -10 (assuming you consider this a "death attack," which is actually fairly generous since it's not specifically noted, and the rules are clear that ability damage is not subject to regeneration)

Now you just make a Wish.

Bam.

EDIT: Stirge method ? whats that?

This was Caliban's idea. From what I recall it involved summoning like 80 or so Stirges and since then only need a touch attack to hit, many hit and start draining con. Each round the big T can kill a few, but they will soon drain all the con and then all you needed is a awish to kill it.

you can choke it to death or drown it , if you planned it well enough it's not that hard... get it down to unconcious due to subdual and then have someone keep it there with weapons and then choke it with a big chain or something.

I am "choking my tarrasque" RIGHT NOW, if you know what I mean, blah blah blah.
