Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 2

Charlarn smiles in relief. "Greetings, Irene. I was just wondering where you were. Are your wounds healing well? It looks like these people might help us out."

"Well hello there Tor. You certainly look like you're burning with desire to slay some goblins" Irene jokes. She calls out to Joe for a drink, then turning back to her table.
"Yeah Charlarn, my wounds are healed up and I'm good to go again. I even did some preperations this time, bought a pony, learned some new spells. With the eight of us we should be able to do some serious damage to the goblins, and hopefully Jezibel..."

While Tor has a quick mind, subtleties sometimes escape him. He takes Irene seriously and frowns.

"I'm eager to try my hand in battle against a suitably loathsome opponent, and it sounds like the goblins are such. I am not so bloodthirsty as to want to slay them, if that can be avoided. If the goblins can be cowed by a show of strength, or routed and driven away from the innocents they threaten, that would be even better than destroying them root and branch."

Tor glances quickly between Nurlan and the Dwarf, wondering if the later will take offense to the choice of song. Hoping to head off any such problem, he engages Nurlan in conversation as soon as the song is done.

"So, Nurlan, everyone is here. What do we do next?"

On finishing his song, the Nurlan takes a bow and returns to the table.

"Let's discuss strategy," he says first, in answer to Tor's question. "We should go back to the avalanche and search it before we try to cross. There was an evidence of a party buried by it, and I'd like to take a closer look while ghouls aren't chasing me. We can also look for wires like Rinaldo described. Then maybe send the stealthiest members of our party across to scout out the other side. If they get attacked, the rest can cover them; if not, we all follow. Be prepared to fight anyone we encounter -- ghouls, goblins, whatever -- but we don't need to pick a fight with anyone who doesn't want one. Most of all, we're looking for information. Especially information relating to Jezibel, or to the stolen silver, and preferably information linking Jezibel to the stolen silver."

Sturm eyes Nurlan with unveiled contempt as he paces through his song -- perhaps missing the moral to the story, so speak.

"Vexin' wag," he remarks to Silvercat, to whom he's seemed remarkably unappreciate. "Who cares 'ow tall ye are anyway? Every'n knows it's how much ye weigh what matters."

He's shown occasional interest in talk of ghouls and goblins, but words like "strategy," "discuss," and "let's" seem to sour his appetite quickly, and he begins to glance about for other signs of work afoot.

Turning back toward the elf: "So, basher, ye heard word 'bout good jobs needed 'r danger about?"

Somac listens with great amusement to Nurlan's latest musical offering. These kinds of songs were common in his tribe, though never so clever.

He is also listening to the conversation at hand. He wonders at Tor's reluctance to kill the goblins. He himself has no such qualms. Goblins are evil, detestable creatures. And these have apparently taken up with the undead, and threaten an entire city of innocents.

Somac thinks to himself, "It is for such as these that swords are forged."

"I'll follow your lead, Nurlan." Tor agrees. He gets his gear together, gives a friendly goodbye to Joe, Lady Persephone, and the others who will not be going on the expedition, and prepares to head out.

/ooc: Manzanita has opened up the adventure thread. See you there!

"I guess it is time to leave for Monemvassia, then. I hope I see you all again." Ashnar says his farewells to those who do not join the quest as well, as he gathers his pack to join the other adventurers bound towards the goblin HQ.

"My, everyone's ready to leave quickly," says Nurlan. "I like that enthusiasm. Say--" He calls after the people already on their way out the door. "How are we travelling? We all retruned from our first trip on horeback. Do you have mounts too? Maybe we should get another horse or too first."

After seeing to his donkey at the stable, Devlin returns to the Red Dragon Inn after a long, frustrating absence. He glances about the common room before, as tradition dictates, announcing his arrival to all.

"Greetings fellow adventures, I am Devlin Magruder, recently returned from a long and ultimately fruitless foray abroad!"

After his brief speech, Devlin approaches the bar and motions for the bartender. "Nothing fancy today, just give me a strong ale."
