"Someone told me that there´s people that can grow big claws with the same prana as I use, but I don´t quite believe it, he wasn´t a nice person anyway."

"Now, what are we supposed to do? A rich man will come through the door and offer us money?"

Kirin laughs a little, but in a nice way. "In a manner of speaking.... Sometimes people come and recruit help directly, and other times they send a message to be posted on the bulliten board," she gestures to that side of the room. "Some offer a great deal of money, others much less... Some simply look for help and cannot guarantee a reward. I was well rewarded in one case for a mission of mercy, and I have seen some return to the Inn unpaid for jobs that seemed quite promising. The only thing we are gaurenteed to find here is adventure. Wealth is often just a side effect."

"I have some ability with blade and bow, but my specialty is tracking and scouting. Oh, and I can make use of some magical items of a 'divine' nature, though I can't afford such things at present."

Artax attempts to call Cirus over, and if successful he gives him some food. "Yea, I'm a sucker, you can tell, can't you Cirus?"

(OOC: no religious symbols of any kind, though you may notice some unusual sarcasm on the word 'divine'.)

Bartholemu "lynx" Holland, level 1 rogue

Lynx keeps his attention on the game but replies to comments without making eye contact, "Well, i won't get too deep in my own philosophical understanding of the world, but I do think helping people is overrated by some. I think one's primary concern should be their own well being. If everybody kept to their own self interest then prehaps things wouldn't get so complicated. I do my fair share for others though. For instance, I was once taught how to play cards, and it saved my life. I take every opportunity I can to offer others that same instruction I recieved years ago." Only because I want some challenge and like to take people's money with my game, Bartholemu fails to add.

As Cirus deposits himself at Artax's feet, kirin smiles at him. "So we have someone to battle up close, someone to find where we're going and help from afar, me to make sure we all survive it, and if our young friend here wishes to join his fortunes with ours, some additional ranged help, and a very convient fellow if we find we've forgotten a vital peice of equiptment.... I won't say we're prepared for anything, but if someone comes looking for help, we should be able to respond."

"And if they don't we can all learn some new card games."

"Yes, that's the gist of what I was saying, additionally Brother Eusebius has a rather interesting way of fighting that I simply can't wait to see in action, not to mention Nodis' crystal darts."

"Bartholemu, I see where you are coming from, I used to feel the same way. Even though I don't agree that is the best way to live, I am not one to try to force others to do what I feel is right."
Artax mutters to himself almost inperceptably, "that's what Edron never understood with all of his Verante talk."

"Kirin, you act like you have spent some time here previously, any idea how often people in need of help drop by?"

Lynx snickers at Kirin's card comment. "Indeed, Kirin. Shall I deal you in this next hand?"

After a pause and a shrug of the sholders, "If something comes up and I travel with you all, I have a crossbow and sword I keep with my horse. I don't like fights, but if I have to defend myself or assist a friend, I am quiet capable. Though I am sure you'll find my best contribution to be infiltration."

In response to Artax, Bartholemu eyes him with one raised eyebrow and says, "Heh! I suppose you know of the 'best' way to live?"

"Infiltration you say? And I was getting the impression that you would be staying here if we set off on some 'harebrained quest' Perhaps if we join up we will be working together even more closely than I thought. If that happens, I'll be happy to watch your back."

"And no, I do not claim to have some superior knowledge of what is best for everyone, I just follow the best path I know of, which is the best any of us can do."

(OOC: posted within a minute of each other, what are the odds?)

Lynx shakes his head, "Well now. I am not too sure that I will be comming along. I have never been all that interested in 'harebrained quest'. The tavern has been slow latey though, and I guess the spirit of those that come through rubs off on me. I will have to see what comes up before I pledge my support to any effort."

(ooc: yeah, pretty funny. Kahuna, are you going to be running anything soon?)

"I can make them even bigger, if I try really hard!" Says Nodis. He puts the chair in two legs before returning to the normal position, and rants: "We´re all here itching for a fight. If only someone would show through that door, that would turn us from murders into heroes."

Bartholemu gives Nodis the same raised eyebrow that he just gave Artax. Murders? He jiggles his sleeve a little under the table, just to be sure his dagger is still there.
