"Ah, well met Ironwolf! Yes indeed, sometimes it takes a keen blade to cut through the obstacles thrown in our way.

I have one of two options..."

[Pulls oversized bastard sword out of scabbard]

"This is Lil' Suzy Q. She's quite a darling. Rather tempermental, however. Often sees red, if you get my drift"

[ha ha, Sunny laughs uproriously at his own joke]

"And this one as well,"

[Sunny sheathes his bastard sword and lumberingly pulls out for display his Glaive]

"Get 'em before they get you, know what I mean Ironwolf?"

[Sunny puts his finger on his nose and rubs it conspiratorally."

OOC: : Hmm...you guys do realise that we just made a team for a melee adventure that doesn't even have a single character with full base attack bonus :)

[er. No problem. Ironwolf is a rough-tough fighter-type, right? er....]

OOC: Psychic Warriors don't get the pure fighting capacity of fighter, but they have a bunch of really powerful buffs once they get to higher levels, so if they min/max the use of those correctly, they can become very strong

ooc: In spite of that lack, Ironwolf is definitely a melee character. :) What I find funny is that as I was posting, you put up a post also using the term "mind puppet." Now that's an obscure phrase to both come out with at once... :)

Anton tips his hat toward Zaeryl as he introduces himself, "Good day sir. I am Anton. Now, please, excuse me." Zaeryl happens to be in Anton's way, so Anton awkwardly walks by Zaeryl to make his way toward the half-elven girl.

"Hello, madam. I am Anton, a pleasure to meet you, Ms...?" He pauses for a name. "Please tell me about your what it is your master is in need of and why."

OOC: That was pretty amusing, although I used it to describe somebody who was being controlled by a Telepath and you used it for an Astral Construct. :) As for Ironwolf, I've seen Psychic Warriors and have no doubt that they can hold their own in melee, but he's going to have trouble if the rest of the party is wizard, psion, rogue, and it was meant to be a melee group ;)

OOC: Well, maybe a ranged Ranger is better?

And maybe not. ;)

The young woman looks at the rapidly growing crowd and attempts to gain some control over the conversation. "My master will be pleased with this enthusiastic response, but let me give you more details on the nature of the employment, so you can decide if it is really to your interests. Master Terast is heavily invested in the Arena of Earling. In the past two months, fullly four of the rising stars amoung his gladiators have died under suspicious circumstances both inside and outside of the ring. He does not know which of his political enemies or economic rivals may have arranged this, and does not want to reveal his losses to all by launching an open investigation. He would like a small number of young fighters to enter the ring as his new crop of gladiators and hopefully draw out and defeat the agents working against him. Optimally, I would like to hire those who can fight well and entertainingly and thus gain the sort of popularity which marked those who were attacked. I could probably come up with an excuse for perhaps one of you to not enter the ring right away if he or she had skills in discovering people's secrets but less so in fighting. If you two," she nods to the competing conjurers, "could work together, you might have a 'schtick' that would sell to a certain crowd."

"That's very true... for some reason... people love to root for the 'underdogs' which, I assure you, our little minions will appear to be. I stress 'appear'; they are actually often very dangerous.

As for fighting man-to-man, I am capable, certainly. Although your 'schtick' sounds appealing as well."

"Yes...we suppose that the thralls who deliver their gold to your master would enjoy seeing the strange and exotic creatures that this one and that one could summon to crush our foes."
