[Tavern Thread] The Dunn Wright Inn

NPCing Jaxs human male

Jaxs continues to watch people come and go throughout the day, and wonders what other interesting souls might wonder in to ruin his day.

{{Now they are letting pets in to help smell up the place. Whatever could be next? }} he thinks to himself, as he watches the newest additions to the Dunn Wright as they speak with Marla.

{{Well if it goes on the floor - I'm headed out the door.}}

[sblock=OOC] Who is all here and still hasn't been on an adventure?[/sblock]

Alvise Biaggio, grizzled frog hunter, sits alone for the moment at a table capable of seating four to six others 1. Judging by the empty tankards in front of the half-elf, he started with pints and is working his way toward his first gallon.

It is rumored that few locals know more about the bogs outside the city than Alvise Biaggio. Other rumors talk about how more than one would-be adventurer has plied the stubble-jawed half-elf with ale and walked away with some useful bit of information about lost treasure or a kidnapped merchant just waiting to reward his rescuers 2.

1 Hint, hint.
2 Hint, hint.

GM: SUM is a dungeon crawl for 4-6 1st-2nd level characters. Since I'm going to work in about a half-hour, I'm unlikely to respond to replies within the next 10-12 hours.

Marla Returned a while later, Draug leaning back and enjoying the ale now coursing through him as a delightfully full mar curled up next to him. He patted the red eyed wolf and smiled.

{{ahh, me lovely lady does enjoy some of the comforts of the city}}

Draug thought to himself as the wolf took up a seating position, her tail wagging as she looked at the approaching Marla, her head cocked to the side.

"I hopez ze not be brungen someting elze for de prinzess, laz"
"no no, mearly to collect the plate and mug... and to point you to the half elf over yonder, he is a hard worker out in the marshes, and often has some information for a kind fellow with tankard or two"

Marla Places another gallon pitcher down in front of draug and winks.

"Since you havn't bitten any of the other patrons yet i thought i'd let you know. We here at the Dunn Wright appreciate well behaved patrons..."

She bends down and picks the plate up from in front of mar, scratching the canine's ears who wimpers a bit realizing there wasn't any more food, but wags her tail none the less at the attention.

".. and their companions as well of course"

With that she leaves, Draug leaving the money for the drinks and food plus a generous tip as he picks up the tankard.

"nowz mar, je be a goodz girl this un noz for eatingz"

The wolf standing up and stretching as Draug beckons her to follow him, a slight look of dissapointment in her eyes as she eyes up the half elf. Draug chuckles a hoarse laugh as he sees mar's reaction and pats her on the head again as he sits down across the table from the Half elf.

"Marla zay ze needz ale, I haves to many for mezelf, and though me prinzess be goodz company, laz no is speaking much"

Plops the tankard down in the middle of the table of the elf and smiles, well what passes for a smile when you have 4 inch canines. The black wolf besides him though sizing up the half elf, weather as a friend or a meal, even draug wasn't sure.

[sblock=ooc] Though he speaks broken common, he of course thinks to himself regulary, and HM if you dont mind i will steal your marking for thinking to yourself as i usually just use italics, but that leaves some questions on occasion.

Also, should i deduct tavern purchases from my character? or no?[/sblock]

A human walks up to the bar. (no this is not the start of a joke) He appears to be from the baronies by his skin and hair tones and a thick non-venzin accent is heard. He asks for a room, some money is exchanged and he hurries off, though he takes notice of the elf with allot of the mugs about him and no other drinking partners. He returns some time later .. .. .. ..

The Human comes back down the stairs from his room and is rubbing his eyes in a fatigued sort of way. He stops long enough to order a drink is handed a shot glass of dark liqueur. He remembers the man with the many takards and goes to join him.

ooc: hint [MENTION=2795]Mark Chance[/MENTION] he is sitting at your table!

"Gootten Tag Mein Herr, I am Heinrick, at your service. It appears that your drinking party left you high and , well not exactly dry. I join you yes?" He seems to be in good spirits despite the redness of his eyes. (bloodshot, not demonic). He then helps himself to one of the chairs and takes his shot glass of a dark liqueur that smells of licorice and downs it in one gulp.

The half-elf nods and grins crookedly. "Alvise Biaggio," he says, patting his chest. "A drinkin' partner is always welcome, Heinrick...especially when he buys the ale."

Biaggio laughs and slaps the table. He reaches into a vest pocket a pulls out a well-used deck of cards.

"To be sportin', I'll cut you for the honor of the next round," Biaggio says, sliding the cards to Heinrick.

OOC: If you want to cut for who buys, roll 1d52. High number wins. :)

The door opens and Pari strides boldly back into the Dunn Wright. He moves up to the bar and orders an ale, then looks around to see how the clientele has changed over the past few days.

Biaggio clucks his tongue and then cuts for his card.

"Ho, ho!" he chuckles as he shows the card to Heinrick. "Looks like my red sword of sharpness beats your queen of mystery. First round's on you, my new friend."

1d52=46

"Wench!" the half-elf hollers. "Two more!" Then, in a slightly quieter voice to Heinrick: "I think I've seen you around here and there. Got a good memory for faces and places. Need one in my line of work."
