[Tavern Thread] The Dunn Wright Inn

The Sword and the Fallen Angel - Recruitment

Jael Kedric considers for a moment, "If our church were to send some Paladins, they would likely number four to six with some veteran experience at least. Perhaps you should ask your friend. Sir Roderic was a valiant and heroic warrior of some skill. Whatever has defeated him surely will require at least a handful of your number."

Taking three clay mugs, Heinrich places a copper coin under one, then without moving the mugs he taps the first mug (with coin and taps another mug and lifts the mugs up and smiels! the coin has moved to the second mug.

"Magic is both zimple ud complex. Ist best to not try to vatch the coin, Ja?", he then goes on a move the coin from under one mug to the other trick and shows it under the new mug and not the previous mug.

"Mein Family has tradition of magician work, usually vith the baron of land, but sometimes if baron ist bad,"

he makes a show of all three mugs have no coin under them, " vee go away"

"Oi" says the clumsy dwarf from his table, raising his mug with no very accurate direction. "If ye be needin' swords fer hire, there's no better mercenary than a Blackrock dwarf." apparently confident in his own skills.

Garnet spares a glance for the drunken dwarf, then murmurs in a low voice. "Best leave that one behind."

OOC: Nothing personal, but I checked Blackrock's background and it mentions his clan fights other Dwarf clans. The stuff on the Seithr Mountain Dwarves (Garnet's homeland) mentions that clans who fight each other are shunned, so Garnet would have a low opinion of that sort of thing. Just a RP opportunity for somewhere down the road.

Le Jubb - Tiefling Alchemist (lvl 1)

To Grog the barkeep, "Thanks for the tip, and I will take some of the good stuff. Make it two. Bring them over to me and the Blackrock dwarf. Let's see how much ale it takes to buy myself a new bodyguard."

leaves the 2 gold he was tapping for the helpful half-orc.

Grabbing his pack, and walking over to the boisterous dwarf. "Sword for hire? Looks more like an axe to me, though, I admit, blades are not my specialty. Ale is on the way friend, so tell me: what is so special about a Blackrock dwarf?
You seem like a regular loud, clumsy drunk dwarf to me - not that there is anything wrong with that."

The dwarf chuckles at the comments of the Tiefling. “Oi, if ye weren’t payin’ the beers, ye’ll already know why my clan is infamous among di dwarves.” He says, sounding his knuckles. “If ye wanna know, we love to fight. We’ve been born to fight!” he slams his fist on the table. “So we don’t get along wit’ other people. Specially on a tavern, where a fist fight can begin at any time, and boy I love a good fist fight! Although so far I’m disappointed; I thought there’ll be chairs already flyin’ when I get in.” he shrugs. Soon, the ale’s on the table, and Muzdum grabs it, with wide open eyes, full of anticipation. He takes a long swing and cleans his black beard with his forehand. He slams his fist on the table again. “Good beer!” he proclaims. “So, dat’s mostly da story. Blackrock cames from our hair, but I t’ink it’s because we are like di black sheep among dwarves, if ye may. Not may of us around ‘though… Ye can’t expect to survive long if yer always fightin’. I’m doin’ alright so far, getting to me 80’s and still kicking, Ha!” he gives Le Jubb a strong pat on the back, that makes him spill some beer.

OOC: No problem mfloyd3, it'll be strange rolewise, if Garnet invited Muzdum a drink actually!

Pari looks over to the other table; after waiting for the wizard to finish his magic trick, he shouts out. "Heinrich! If you're finished with your entertainment, you should come meet our new friend - he may have a job for us."

Le Jubb - Tiefling Alchemist lvl 1

"Well you seem like a fine enough dwarf to me, and I think I would do well to have you standing between me and the nasties when the time comes. I am seeking employment for coin and adventure. If you are up for it, maybe you could accompany me; I doubt you are going to find the bar fight you want in this calm place. Better if we take the fight to someone who won't be missed, and whose death would at least pay for some beers. This inn is a pricy affair.

By the way, I am Le Jubb, alchemist by trade. Now, if you will excuse me, I need to have words with this wizard before he joins his comrades and leaves here. Let me know if you are interested in my offer."

The tiefling stands from the table and goes to address the wizard who just finished his tricks.

"Excuse me, Heinrich, i believe it is, correct? I noticed your tricks; very nice. If I may impose... I am Le Jubb, and I too am somewhat practiced in the arcane. I am sure you could agree with me that one can never know too many tricks. Unfortunately my studies have not afforded me everything that I wish to master. Perhaps you could assist me in this manner... You no doubt carry a spellbook with you; I wish to peruse it and perhaps copy some of its writings into my own formula book. You would be doing me an extraordinary favor and I would gladly pay you for this service.

I wish I could offer you some knowledger in return, but I have never had a wizard been able to learn anything from my twisted formula; can you help me in this, will coin suffice?"

".. .. .. .. ..Und zhat ist how magic ist done. Huh? I am to being called. Chasing goblins is deadly work for vizards. zhey hunt us like vermin. Not a good idea fur me. You villl find maybe some verkers zhere" He points to the tiefling and dwarf, stands and leaves to Peri's table.

Heinrich greets Peri and Garnet with a quick sharp bow and then addressing the older gentleman with them he bows and says, "Heinrich schriberson,at your service. Ist verk you sprekin uf?" he takes a seat to be comforable, flipping the copper piece he was playing with ealier over his fingers back and forth.
